I was such a picky eater when I was a kid. I've always been thin, and due to my fast metabolism, I have always always always had problems finishing my meals. Thankfuly I grew to appreciate all food, and nowadays the only two things I don't eat are mushrooms and egg.

My young cousin used to be a super picky eater, something that helped was letting him help with the cooking of the meals because it gave him more control over what he was eating as well as let him see exactly what was in his food before it was in the plate

That is a great question. I don't make my kids finish their plate. That being said, if they haven't eaten a lot, I save their plate and when they say they are hungry an hour later, I take out the plate again. That way they know they aren't getting a snack instead of a meal if they refuse to eat it the first time around! It took a few times being fooled for me to figure that one out. :)

I like to go back and watch these videos as "memories" When my grandma talked to me about nutrition she was like "Eat it or you might die!"

Almost every time i watch youtube i always watch whats up moms. You guys are amazing!

That's a good point! Once the kids can tell you why they don't like something, you can figure out ways to change (textures, smells, etc).

I've been watching whatsupmoms since their kids were babies and they have grown so much now

I am 12 but I love to watch what’s up mums

I would watch some of the bed room make over videos for ideas! (If you're talking about kids rooms) 1. Make a little center for the kid. Be it with a little desk with drawing materials, or a pillow/chair to sit on. 2. Put something in the room that can really make it their own. It could be something they made, something they picked out or something with their name on it. 3. If your kid is young, you could try putting in a night light to make tiny trips easier, or just to help them know it's okay at night. (This could be subsituted for glow in the dark stars.) 4. Make sure there is space for your kids to play in their room! It's not just for sleeping. 5. Make sure there is enough light, natural or artificial.

I'm a teenager and I'm a really picky water still. Smaller portions work really well for me. It's kind of like a goal to clean the plate even if I don't like the stuff. It's harder when there's more food, I'll just put up a fight.

As someone who grew up with a lot of junk food, processed foods, and has been eating her emotions since the age of three, I have to say I love these tips. I wish my mother and grandparents had known them when I was growing up, too! It's so hard to change your eating habits once you've established a pattern. Hopefully I'll be able to raise my kids with the mentality that healthy food is the good food.

You have SUCH cute kids!! Having them help out picking out fruits and such at the grocery store, telling them nutrition facts, and having them help in the kitchen is gonna be a great tool to have as they grow older.

Being a extremely fussy eater myself something that intrigued me a lot when I was a child was a plate with a picture on it, there was a certain restaurant that we used to go to often and their children meals were on these colourful plates with pretty scenery or animals, however the food was covering it. So it made me want to eat the food so I could see the picture :)

My baby sister used to hate lasagna. On the other hand she loved pasta cake (same thing but rebranded)

I’m not a mom, but I hope take care of my baby cousins and what I say is “ that’s OK if you don’t like dinner, you don’t have to eat it but I’m not making anything else” and if there’s dessert, I always serve dessert regardless of what’s eaten. They try more food now and have a healthy relationship with food/dessert.

I'm a picky eater so you should always have another option just in case they don't want to eat it so then if they turn both down it's not your fault
