Nice video! After installing Linux on my windows 10 laptop and when i reboot, it did not give me an option of dual booting and went directly to windows. The following worked for me, OS Boot Manager inside the bios settings was the answer to my problem on my HP laptop also. By simply changing the order putting Ubuntu over Windows by clicking F6 then F10 to save and exit, I was then given the option to choose which OS I wanted to load.

i had a uefi locked system and it said the drive was unallocated, i was curious and didnt care if i had to reinstall windows, i reformatted it and windows had a seizure and booted in an efi shell...... worth it

If your PC still allows installing XP than I think it should work. On my PC always ends up in a blue screen when I try to install XP. Always install the older operating system first (Win XP) and than the newer one (Win 10).

Theoretically no, it should be lossless. First the hard drive on which the operating system is that must be converted, then in BIOS you have to modify it from UEFI to Legacy ► kzread.info/dash/bejne/m3V3pJiyhr3clbw.html. *AOMEI Partition Assistant Professional is for Windows, not Linux!

Intel gen 11 doesnt allow booting in legacy mode anymore. Any chance to create multiboot hdd in uefi mode?

what is exactly matter? My laptop using 8th cpu that can only boot uefi mode but I still install dual boot without any problem.

I have a Dell Inspiron 7580 with Win 10 installed in a M2 PCIe Hard Drive. I shrug the disk to install a Ubuntu in this new partition. Ubuntu didn't boot and I tried this method to change my EFI boot and after I changed GPT to MBR and restarted my laptop all the boot sequence dissapeared and now I can't use nor windows nor ubuntu.. any idea?

my computer won't go into bios at all, no matter what i do. It is uefi, gpt junk configuration with secure boot on. i go to the menu at bootup, select enter bios, but it won't. It'll just go into windows. so i don't want to convert it to mbr just in case I can't get into bios and then set my main drive as the boot drive.

does this break windows activation? i thought eufi was how windows 10 was activated, and the oem key was stored in the motherboard, once you revert back to legacy, you now need to produce your own key for windows to be activated i thought? no????

after converting the disk to legacy(gpt) if the windows is not booting up or if u have any other problem just connect ur hdd as portable and use the same app which is used in the video and convert the disk back to normal old settings and u will be able to boot to windwos again :D its not a helpful but it helped me before so i thought someone will need this trick thanks for reading!

Every BIOS is more or less different, newer motherboards might not even support LEGACY mode anymore.

There are chances... better try to install an additional new Windows, just make sure you create it in MBR mode and not in GPT mode (using Rufus).

I can't guarantee anything... Move all personal files to a separate partition. If it's older then maybe yes, newer ones don't support legacy anymore, only UEFI.
