I liked the rounded top one, it just feels warmer to me. Plus, as you said, the top is an extra area where you can add a name, filigree, a campy saying, etc.

Traditional design for my taste. Nice design Ham.

Ooooh! Yep! This is a great idea! And… lol… I tend to forget what wood I have squirrelled away as well.

As someone else mentioned, the version that leans back further would not be wall or counter friendly. I wouldn't have the board lean past the back edge of the base. That way the base could be pushed back against the wall without the leaning board hit the wall.

Enjoyed your video and subscribed. I leaning toward the rounded top thinking it would be perfect, as is, for branding.

I find it odd that KZread had unsubscribed me from this channel. I've noted that happening with other channels every now and then.

Put me down as a "traditional" guy. I can't wait to see the files and to make them. 👊

Re: soapstone, be sure you're using PPD - you don't want to breathe that in. Looking forward to seeing what you create with it!

The dramatic lean wouldn't be wall friendly, so the lesser profile sideways is best imo. Maybe more material in front for durability?

I agree with your wall assessment. I wouldn't have the board lean past the back edge of the base. That way the base could be pushed back against the wall without the leaning board hit the wall.

Man I love your stuff. With all of your new stuff is any of it going to your Etsy store or just the new cnc with me?

You could achieve the steeper angle without the slop if you used a table saw or miter saw. Table saw with dado blade if doing a lot of them.

Fun looking project. I have two question. When using double sided tape, how do you keep the bit from getting gummed up? And if it does get gummed up, how do you clean it?

wondering this myself. What is best way to clean them up or does it really not matter

Like the more modern, if you had 2 versions, 1 like shown and 1 for custom then I would leave 1.5 inches at the top for the message.

I like coffee stuff but can't stand how expensive K cups are.

We ditched KCups and I got one that is a fancy, more traditional type of coffee maker from Sam’s.

Where do you get the India ink that you use to color/stain the wood?

I get mine from an art store, Blick, but hobby stores and Ama have it as well.

I don't know why anybody uses these. It's cheap plastic mixed with scalding hot water, it just seems fundamentally wrong to drink that. I don't even drink cold water out of plastic :) I do understand some people's need for a single-serve coffee though and they make these machines that you fill up with coffee beans and then you just press a button and it makes one cup of coffee, just a recommendation. That machine also makes nice foamed milk while you're at it :)

waking up I grind the beans freshly every morning, a 30 second turnaround. Beans held in a glass jar, grinded in glas jar, blended with all sorts of goodies within a high quality (non-BPA) plastic can (could that be micro-bad?).
