CEngi Lol true I had a similar situation. I built a wall with a berry defense on the outside then when a raid happened Pillagers literally spawned on top of the berries. Now time to carefully plan where to expand my Empire (I have a villager breeder which has drastically increased my population so I had to build more buildings and jobs for my people).

my village is communist tey are all treated same. get one bread. no one special. all good. i was dumb though when pillagers came, i killed tha captain and then thought the raid started, but i had just triggered it by going into the village which was not good but somehow the walls were really outside and the pillagers still spawned outside the village. I wussed and killed them in creative tho. I bad.

10:11 This is actually negated, because in an actual raid, the villagers would be hunkered down in their houses, where pillagers can’t shoot at them. So a trench is a perfect defense, except for the few straggling villagers.

ENVYRIX 5 ikr these new updates are so different to what we had 4 years ago!

The best way I defend my village is a 3 block tall cobblestone wall with magma blocks on the outside. Works well tbh mobs like pillagers take a hit and drop loot (unlike lava or netherack on fire which i had before) and as for the ravages once all the other pillagers are dead I just equip my sword and mash dem up, (or you can use a trident with loyalty or a bow or something).

With the trench idea, you could use open trapdoors because the pillagers think they can walk across it because they think it's closed, but it can just drop them into magma.

For the 2 block of dirt, you can save time and remove the bottom block of the dirt wall and it’s still the same.

For the trench, add trap doors on the outers where the pillagers will come, they will think a trap door is a block

7:35 you can add trapdoors on the sides as pillagers will see them as full blocks so they will walk right in, it could work with buttons but overall, it may not work but i think its worth a try

For flatland villages just get cobble or grass. For the entrance use a trapdoor because entities think it’s a full block, on the bottom use sweet berry bushes, the use repeaters and red stone for better defenses

Cool tip if you have a lot of saplings just plant then around the village pretty cool style and well protected

11:00 me and my friends made this huge coblestone wall but there were places to stand and attack back. very useful
