Easy Way to Change Husqvarna Riding Lawn Mower Blades Without Lift ||YTH18542||
Today we sharpened our Husqvarna YTH18542 using a standard vehicle jack. We all know that nobody actually has those lawn mower lifts to do this. You could also apply the same thing if you are going to replace the blades instead of sharpening. This installation process will work with your John Deere, Cub Cadet, or Craftsman Lawn mowers, just make sure you have the correct replacement blades.
Here are the links to the blades. If you use our affiliate links it helps supports our channel, we get a small commission it but doesn't cost you any extra.

Awesome video. Thanks. I'm going to see if I can drive mine up onto car ramps. That would accomplish the same goal and maybe be easier then using a jack for me.

I drop the wheels down on those blocks just for the fact that when the jack does slide off the deck hanger mount I don't have a heart attack.

My God! Who allows the deck's undercarriage to get into that condition. Keeping it clean is a better way to maintain the deck's condition for years. I learned the hard way and I hosed after ever usage. The deck gave out and I could not find a deck for my Craftsman lawn tractor. After only 4-5 yrs old, and manufacturing stopped. I had to discard the deckless tractor. If one gets on a driveway/patio, lowers it to #1 ground level, and puts the hose into the clean threaded threads and turn the water on (and engine running with blades turning for about 5 minutes, it can go a long way to removing lots of hard mud and grass).

Lol never ever use water it will rot out so fast Use compressed air instead then use a sprayer mix diesel & oil & coat the undercarriage with the wand

Charlie that may well be so. Two things. One, using the water cleaning inlet with hose attachment is supposed to do the job. However, it barely does anything more then wet underneath the deck. I do use the spray/cleaning attachment with hose, but on a pavement/driveway, I turn the motor on and then the deck lowered to "O" allowing strict underneath cleaning and the grass, mud etc. cleans it thoroughly. Then when clear water had emerged visually, I know the underneath was done. Without the water, I turn it on with the deck raised and without water and it dries underneath. The whole process takes about 5 minutes. Secondly when the deck is under warranty for 10 years, I don't fret IF it should rot and a new once replacement is on the way to repairing it.

@enblanchard5492 if you start the motor with the deck blades disengaged do the blades spin? How would the blades spinning start the motor and engage the pulley? Wives tale.

Why not just take the deck off, take blades off, then clean the deck so it doesn't rust out, then sharpen blades with a file in a vice or grinder???
