I can tell u a easier way. "Just grab a pot and fill it with aged tank water,than take your filters sponge and squzze it in to the jar (it contains redimade infusuria) than take some yeast solution and pour it in the jar,wait for a day and there will be a huge amount of infusuria"

Yeast should not do any harm to fishes but why to take any risk.so let the infusuria feast on the east and multiply in to huge amount than you can feed them.

Yes as long as it is completely dry. They will thank you for it. Same with catappa almond leaves and guava and jackfruit . Just make sure to completely dry them out first. It will help their immune system and provide minerals. Just do not add too many too quickly and change water
