How is the network reception? I read a lot of people have problems with that. Thats the reason thats stopping me from buying. Wonder if its better with the update ?

​@@jinxclaudiaheard it a lot too, seems only affected by some carriers and regions, most ppl probably don't have a problem, i had random cut out from my carrier too, but only once every 4-5 days and did get instantly reconnected tho (I assume the software tried to save battery and killed necessary tasks), since the last update no cut-out, however it still shows like 5g with 2bars or so (with the 7 i had full bars) but it seems only a visual bug cuz I'm getting 200+ Mbit with a relatively low ping like on the 7

Thanks for the video. Is the P8P still you daily driver? how is/was the phone in regards to productivity use. Do you use the Ai functions such as call screening? Now that the s24Ultra out, would you still recommend the P8P over that?

Does it muffle the video sound within the first 10 seconds? Pixel 6 pro and 7 pro had that problem when filming concerts

To workout if it is worth upgrading, it depends upon what you are upgrading from. Recently got my Pixel 8 Pro to replace a 6 year old Huawei P20 Pro and I love it.

On p30 pro still going strong after 5 yrs, v tempted to upgrade just bc all the deals are so crazy at (256gb for 800£) but it's tough as my p30 pro still has amazing performance and battery.

@@Tejmaster1 I did upgrade to the Pixel 8 pro from that same device, it felt like a pretty natural progression from it ngl :).. My P30 Pro started acting up + had some screen burn-in which started to drive me bad smh, overall a wonderful phone!

Thanks for your excellent assessment of Pixel 8 Pro experience. Google should just use Qualcomm Modem ( if technically possible ). I am sure people would accept the price hike if it means better cell reception and probably also better battery life.

The Android crowd is the most price sensitive of them all. The price went up due to the most brilliant screen ever in a Pixel device (a HUGE bump over the 7 Pro in all aspects) and 7 year software + OS support, not to mention inflation. You think they'll take a price increase going back to Qualcomm? 😂

Only Qualcomm modem , not the G3. iPhones use Apple chip and Qualcomm modem because Qualcomm modem is the best for Signal reception. Google can use Tensor G3 and Qualcomm Modem ( instead of Exynos Modem)@@CRP3252

How is everyone's reception after the big update l'm waiting for my 8 pro to come in the mail upgrading from the pixel 6 pro. I remember my pixel six Pro had a lot of random drop connections when not on a phone call just browsing the web etc. it would lose connection

I was trying out the dumb phone trend but going without my email and finance apps made my life challenging whenever I was away from hone😮 it's scary but this modern world requires people to be connected unless they want to live like a caveman or homeless without the modern day conveniences😢

I had the Pixel 8 Pro and Sony Xperia 1 V and I can tell you that the Sony Xperia had better connectivity than the Pixel 8 pro. My Pixel 8 pro constantly switched from Wi-Fi to 5G. Made my text not be sent, videos stopped, and calls dropped. Loved the phone, hated the connectivity and because of the connectivity issues, the battery would drain. And that's cuz I live in a good reception area. The standby battery drain was not resolved for me. But the modem in the Pixel 8 pro is the same modem from the 7 Pro which is an Exynos 5300. In my honest opinion, the only thing that has changed in the 8 series is the screen, the software (not by much from 7 series), and Tensor (not by much). The things that are the same... The cameras are the same, the modem hasn't changed, the Tensor hasn't really changed much and for me, the chip is still power hungry. The Sony Xperia 1 V had better battery life, better reception/connectivity. I sent my Pixel 8 Pro back. My Pixel 5a has better battery life and connectivity than 8 Pro.

Return it and buy s23 ultra. Mine gets overheated all the time. Performance is always amazing but that feel of warm phone in your hand is not comfortable.

I've had a issue with the fingerprint doesn't work at times. I put my finger on it and it does nothing.

@@MitchellMillennial I had to sell both a pixel 6 and pixel 7 pro due to the poor reception. I'm skeptical of the 8 since it's the same modem and only software and cpu integration improvements. How much better can it really be without a better modem.

@@MitchellMillennial Look at other channels in this genre - Waveform, MKBHD, JerryRig or, outside of this genre but reporting from a warzone 'The Russian Dude', have better audio. Hope this helps

Its good that they let you choose to not backup the night sight video. I will have to test this as video boost also requires this. I dont have photo backup on and would like to think Google is not trying to get me to buy more storage. If you are not going into this for gaming the phone is great. Manual settings in Video would be nice especially that peaking focus feature but am still glad they finally have some manual setting for photos.

played some games with it and with the december update GPU driver promising better performance it does very well imo, not on the ad gen2 or gen3 level but very playable even harder games they run just ok. for a non gaming photo pretty good - especially when compared to a SD gen 1 which was the SoC to go for gaming 2 years ago.

I heard that call quality is not good at all on Pixel 8 pro so I returned it.

​@@MitchellMillennial but once you sync Google photo app with the cloud you have same photos, right? What I mean is that if you delete any photo on your phone to save your phone storage that photo will be deleted from cloud as well? So basically you still need higher storage on your phone.

Buddy, your mic quality(catching up echo) isnt good. That drags your whole video down. Its not about an expensive microphone, I guess the mic is too far from your mouth and/or your walls reflect the sound.

I take the time to give you a constructive feedback and you tell me to buy new headphones. Its your channel buddy. Everybody knows that sound quality is essential to success on youtube. Funny is that you wrote the same answer under the other comments, that they were the only one complaining. 🤦‍♀️ You dont just need to improve the audio quality, also how you react on constructive and helpful feedback.

Also got the pixel 8 pro for 400$ so at that price point I don’t know why anyone would complain

Mine gets overheated very often. I disabled 5G and use only LTE but still gets very warm even with internet browsing and KZread video. That drains battery 🔋 quickly. Not best for a flagship product. Should have bought S23 Ultra...

@@MitchellMillennial it's not. S23 ultra is a 1 year old phone and pixel is only couple of months. You can get s23 ultra in a similar price. Especially now when s24 ultra will launch in couple of weeks. Google should have gone with Snapgragon and there won't be any issues. I think there must be a big deal between Samsung and Google that forces them to use that crappy Exynos. Maybe Samsung expected a huge discount on google as a default their search engine on Samsung devices.
