I like seeing how feasible the assembly of this aerobin is. I have zero assembly skill but would like to compost. Thanks for the video!

This was a really helpful video. One step not included: The outlet for the hose is in the off position in this video. Turn it gently with pliers 180 degrees to on position. You will see light coming through opening. It’s best to do this before any other step. Next attach hose... thanks so much for the upload it gave me confidence as I went.

I have a new one, from Costco. We took it apart and reassembled 4 times, because it seemed flimsy. Eventually I figured out that it was not snapping in place - the plastic tabs were not going far enough in. With a LOT of horsing around I got them in there, and it is more rigid. When I empty it, I will put screws, or nuts and bolts, wherever possible instead of relying on the plastic tabs.

Did U like using the aerobin? Is it good for weeds? I don't need to turn this do I?

Good for weeds, leaves and off-cuts. No need to turn, air passes up the central pipe to assist the composting process.

I have this composter but I am getting lots of fruit flies in the container and mosquitoes all around. Any suggestions?

Probably too much moisture and too much nitrogen. Try adding some shredded paper or another carbon source and let me know how you get on.

I'm so curious about the update of Aerobin. Please tell us about it.

How the heck do you get the sides to lock! Quite frankly, a bit disappointed on the lack of quality.

Hi Paul, I'm trying to recall how the Aerobin assembles. If I remember correctly the sides with curves have to be supported until the front or back panel can lock them in place. The front and back panels have tabs at the bottom which locate into the base, then tabs at the top which slot into the sides. You have to be very careful whilst moving it empty, because the sides can easily come loose, however once assembled and loaded I was pleasantly surprised by how sturdy the Aerobin is and the weight when loaded with compost does make it easier to remove and fit the access panels. Hope this helps.
