    Excellent video!! Taking the club too far to the inside is exactly my problem even though when I'm swinging it doesn't feel that way. But when I take a video it's exactly what I'm doing. It's a bigger problem with my driver and I get that little loop at the top leading to an outside to inside path. This is an awesome drill to work on. I magine it will feel a bit weird at first (like it's too steep) but should help.

    Always managed to start the takesway correctly but then moved the club inside. Great video, I finally undstand how the swing plane works - holding the club next to the clubhead was the Aha moment👍

    The stop and go exercise absolutely transformed my ball striking. I need some more practice though as I'm currently hitting the ball flush stopping in the backswing but NOT in my full swing. 😁 Short story: if you struggle with shallowing your club like i am.. TRY IT

    Clean lesson, and the drill (gripping down to the steel) is also a wonderful way to get a feeling of togetherness in the takeaway and really gets the wrists loaded for power.

    hey chris really appreciate you continuing to make videos during the pandemic. I've been wathcing your videos before my range sessions and I've seen my fade turn into a draw! and my driver shots have been way more consistent unbelievable really. still need to control how much power and speed I put into my swings but i think once I stop thinking about technical stuff and its more embedded in my memory it will be better

    Hi Chris, firstly thank you for a wonderful video. I have tried the drill and it helps a lot. I have a question and a request for you. 1) Should we follow the same drill for resque, woods and driver? If yes then could you please make an extended video. 2) Could you please share a video on how to hit woods from fairway and what should be our takeaways. Once again thanks for your help. my game has actually improved a lot by just following your drills :)

    What are your thoughts, if any, on the Moe Norman single plane swing? I'm trying to use something close to that but found that I must get big width on the backswing to have any success.

    Hi Chris I note your swing in relation to your height which looks Tall well compared to my 5’6”. So here’s my question my standard ping irons are made for an average height of 5’8” and been told either cut the clubs or shallow your swing. I’m choosing the latter and wondering if this is something you would recommend.

    Hi Chris, can I send you 6 second video of my swing. I am really trying to not get so steep on my downswing. I take it back on one plane and then on the way down it is on an entirely different plane but I can’t seem to break that. It would be nice to get less steep on the way down.

    Hi Chris. What would be a potential pitfall if if the shaft was directly above the hands, halfway back ?

  • @ChrisRyanGolf

    @ChrisRyanGolf

    4 жыл бұрын

    Hey Jeff, I’m not against that for full swings as the shaft can often shallow in transition, but when playing half shots, pitch shots etc with shorter swings it can be hard to get the club into the delivery position with less time 👍

    Ive been working/fighting on this for months now, and i just cant seem to make any progress. Im near scratch, but i do tend to roll the shaft flat on the backswing. When i correct it the results are terrible, hooks galore, not to mention it just feels unnatural to me. Question- i have noticed that regardless of my roll flat takeaway, i still end up very much on plane on the downswing, and dont really get too steep. Is this acceptable or should i continue to work on the backswing? Thanks!

    Landon Van Horn if you come into impact correctly why worry about how you take it back. If it is consistent all is fine... just as an info, look at many old great players like Sam Snead he took it back deeply, Bobby Jones... or more recent an incredibly good player ( maybe the best chipper of all time) John Daly... Just my two cents... have a nice Sunday

    I really struggle with this move, the club goes behind me and is more shallow to steep rather than steep to shallow. I then have a closed club face at the top. I've tried every takeaway drill known and still cant nail it. All this and I still have a handicap of 5.9 :(
