Hi there, I knew you made a toilet roll tube that had a removable lid! Girl, you know I love you ❤️ I was thinking of making something like this but my four-year-old wants me to make something with a night-light. Here I go, watching more of your videos. ❤️ have a fun day in clay ❤️

Did u remove the cardboard from the base and the top after it dried?

No. The top all covered with clay. And I painted inside the tube with white primer and mod podge😊

Can you please explain why you brushed water on the surface of clay for the base and before you created shape? Thanks

The water make the clay softer and it will stick on the surface also blending the clay well when joining the pieces.

You can make larger pieces you can buy cardboard shipping tubes at stationary stores ranging from 2 inches wide to 6 or more inches wide likewise you can buy high quality cardboard sheets that are vary rigged or you can laminate 2 or more sheets of pre cut cardboard in a stack to increase the thickness and strength the toilet paper roll is a good idea but it's not vary thick and because of this the final sculpture is not as capable of surviving a fall but the finished work looked good nevertheless

It just seems like the paper would be so flimsy that it would be hard to press the clay onto it.

@@richardcoleman1018 If your tissue paper roll tube too soft, you can find alternative stronger tube like those for paper towel may be and cut it.

@@clayitnow I apologize for butting in & if I am wrong but I think he meant the stairs (the paper) would be flimsy making it hard to attach the clay.

I’m confused as to when I need to add paper to the clay. I am making fairy houses using jars.
