I remember my grandmother would knit and crochet blankets. As a young child, I would sit fascinated at how fast her old fingers worked. She would try to show me how, and I can remember her 80+ year old, worn hands would hold my hands and fingers to help me. I am now 54 years old and I cherish these memories and cherish the throws I kept!

I’m an assistant principal at a K-8 school. One of the teachers in my building is teaching some of her students to crochet. I was invited to help. It has been one of the most enjoyable activities I’ve participated in as an AP. Seeing the excitement in in the eyes of students is always a memorable experience for me.

Very beautiful and elegant shawl. A recent memory is my father passed away, and I was going through a bad phase as I was very close to him. All I did day and night was crochet. I used to sit and crochet for hours, it really helped me through my difficult phase. I would whole heartedly like to thank you for teaching this amazing art and coming up with amazing tutorials

This blanket will be the carrot before my nose to start knitting! I do know a couple of basics 😊 My warm memories are of my mom making so many cozy blankets and sweaters, but the best memory was when I wished I had a blanket for my 8 inch doll, who had her own tiny baby buggy or pram.. She smiled, and wipped up a beautiful little blanket to match the buggy. And, she gave the little blanket extra flare with its intricate pattern.. I thought I had the most amazing mom on earth, that she could make something so wonderful. She worked as a full time nurce, and ran a household with five children ❣️ She was amazing 😊

Wonderful shawl, I love the simplicity. My recent memory is of a friend from my Air Force days . He passed away recently, but I always remember his absolute joy in every day. For him, there were no good or bad days, just different degrees of adventure. I will always remember that about him.

I remember when I first met my husband, in 8th grade. He was so kind to me, and to all of my friends. He's still kind - we will celebrate our 45th anniversary this month! And he loves hearing my knitting needles clack together...it reminds him of his own mother, who was an accomplished knitter.

This blanket is gorgeous! And this yarn base looks so warm and snuggly! Thank you for the pattern, and all the patterns you give us. My mama was recently diagnosed with multiple dementias. It came on very suddenly and has been a huge life change and a daily struggle for us. We live together, I am her sole caregiver, and I am thankful for each and every good day we have together. I think of them as a gift. Everyone, remember to tell those you love that you do, we don't know when we won't be able to tell them again.

Some of my favorite memories are of my parents waking me up at the crack of dawn to go fishing. At the time, I was unhappy to be up so early, but as I reflect back, they were times of peace and joy I will forever treasure. My father is now almost 90, and he has so many stories to tell of early morning fishing!

Love this blanket pattern. It reminds me of a knit blanket my grandmother had made years ago. When she passed there was only one blanket but 13 of us grandchildren. Each of us got a piece of her Knit & Quilt collection but that blanket was the most coveted. I received one of her lovely quilts. I now have 4 nieces and have plans to knit them each their own blanket so that they all get to keep the memory. I have even taught a couple of them how to crochet to help encourage the love of the needle arts. It's such a great memory no matter the craft!

With kids starting back to school here, it reminds me of my 38 year old son's first day at kindergarten all those years ago. The excitement on his part and the fear on my part as to what I was going to do with all my free time once he went. Didn't take long for us both to figure things out. It was a special time.

Recently I have been volunteering at my local Senior Citizens Center, on my first visit I felt everyone was sitting in their separate groups, very quiet, not interacting with each other! I asked the organizers to play some music and I started dancing in the empty spaces. The organizers joined me and gradually everyone started dancing with us! I was later told that they had never seen so many members getting off their seats and joining in a physical activity before this ! I was so pleased & I am going to remember this forever 😊❤🥹🤗

So any really nice patterns lately. Not a crafting memory but a favorite. Our local dog club was doing demos at a local nursing home. At the end, it was announced that people could come pet the dogs. My heart sank as my bearded collie, Peaches, was not fond of strangers just coming up and petting her. All pf a sudden I felt her pull away from me toward a man lying on a stretcher. He was trying to say her name. She put her front feet up on the stretcher and let him pet her, even though his hand sometimes caught in her long hair. I’ve never been so proud. Dogs really do sense things about people.

The memory I hold dear for blanket making, is knitting a baby blanket for my friend. She would come over just raving about how much she loved it. This blanket was actually suppose to be a surprise for her. I never let on it was for her. When I finally finished, I wrapped it up, and gave it to her at her Baby shower. I used a thick yarn for this and she was absolutely thrilled!

I have so many treasured memories of my maternal grandmother, but my favorite childhood memory is me telling her there was a bug floating in her glass of champagne at a family party. She laughed and said that's OK, bugs don't drink very much! I think that was a good lesson in laughing at life's mishaps and looking at the bright side of every situation. That is how I try to live my life. I enjoy your videos and emails, because you have such a glowing happy attitude. Thank you!

Mahalo/thank you for this blanket pattern. I live in tropics but love to knit blankets with cotton yarns that are comfortable in our warm humid climates. I knit a double sized blanket in 2.5 months to finish it for Christmas gift the day before. It was the most stitches I’ve knit in such a short time! But my son’s family loves it, often snuggling under in a tight group to watch TV or movie. Again, mahalo much.

One of the most special memories, that I hold very close to my heart, is from Easter morning a few Easter’s ago. We have 3 adult sons, and 3 grandchildren. We would have an Easter egg hunt for the grand kids around 9-10 in the morning. My oldest son, Brandon has a daughter, Brooklynn. My middle son, Justin has two kids, his daughter, Isabel(Izzy) and his son, Chase. Our youngest son doesn’t have any children as yet. Well my sons would follow the kids around the yard, to help the kids find eggs. I loved just watching my sons with their kids. Everyone was laughing and running around. Hearing all of their laughter, including their dads holds a very special place in my heart. Sadly we lost our son Justin in April of 2021 to motorcycle accident. His kids’ mom won’t let them come over for even part of the day on any holiday anymore.

Gorgeous blanket, Chandi. My mom has dementia and she is a shadow of who she used to be, but recently I sat with her while my dad went to his doc appt. She was doing her typical mindless wandering, but she came around my dads chair (she's about 3.5 ft tall, literally) , peeked around and said "Bah! " to try to scare me. Then she laughed and laughed. I remember all the years of her doing that when her mind was intact. She had such a great sense of humor and was a spicy spunky little Japanese lady. I was thankful for the reminder of who she used to be. Have a lovely lovely day!

A trip this summer with my best friend is a recent memory I hold dear. For a year now, we live on opposite ends of the US & for me remembering the adventures, fun & laughter of that trip shortens the physical distance between us.

A recent memory was of a particularly happy family holiday we had when my children were all young and needing their mother! I miss both the Children and the family holidays and it particularly hit me how long it has been since I've felt so full of life. My crafting has nearly filled the gaps where life roles have slipped away but I still hold very dear to those happy memories. As usual you present the most beautiful yarns alongside adorable patterns ❤

I needed something from my desk the other day, and as I was looking for it, I came across a note from Mom (who passed a few years ago), telling me to have a nice day. I keep moving it around in the desk, so that I will come across it every once in a while, and most times I've forgotten about it, and it comes as a bittersweet surprise. Over the years I made several blankets for Mom, she would really like this one.

Beautiful blanket. While watching my two younger dogs playing together, I had a sweet memory of my two older dogs playing together when they were young (we lost of the older ones last year). Always enjoy watching and playing with my pups.

Another breathtaking pattern, the colours are soft and warm and beautiful. My greatest memories was when I was a little girl, back home in Lisbon Portugal, going on weekends to my grandparents farm in the country. How excited I would get as we drove closer and closer to the big giant gates to their farm. The aroma of all the fruits, and knowing I'd be surrounded by adorable animals that I adored. But most of all embracing my grandparents that I loved so much. Their farm was my magic place. I miss them so much.

What a beautiful pattern! September always brings lots of memories - going back to school, sending my children back to school, picking up apples, pears, peppers, and tomatoes for canning. My late mom and I used to do a lot of canning, preparing for winter. Loved spending time with her- roasting peppers, eggplants, then peeling the skins and adding them in jars with garlic and herbs. Miss my mom, cherishing my memories.

What a gorgeous knit blanket! Ive been crocheting the last couple of years and decided 2023 was the year I’d learn how to knit so this a perfect project for me to learn my stitches and practice my tension. I’ll be checking out your previous knit videos too for more inspiration so thank you Chandi. Also thanks for the chance to win some of your gorgeous yarns!!! I’m so excited. My fondest memory was when my daughter spoke for the first time at the age of 2. You may ask why this was so special, it’s because she’s on the autism spectrum and I thought she would never talk. When she spoke I just cried. I’ll never take anything for granted and still cherish any little moments and milestones she reaches. I’m truly blessed ☺️ 🙋🏻‍♀️💕💕

That’s a beautiful picture you painted at the start of your video. I rescued a very sick, nearly furless 3 month old puppy. I was told Daisy would be fine in a couple of weeks. That was 5 months ago. Her skin was so bad from whatever undiagnosed condition she had that it was looking bad for her. I got a 2d opinion and this vet told me to take her to a veterinary dermatologist. I took my fur brat there yesterday and got such good news. We have a plan that will take time, but we hope it will lead to Daisy having a very happy best life! An awesome memory ❤

My memory is spending almost an entire day with my youngest, adult son, which RARELY happens. Although we were at a celebration of life for a friends who had passed, way to early, it was nice to just enjoy his company for the day.

What a beautiful pattern. I didn’t learn to knit until I became an adult. But as a child I taught myself to crochet. I remember making this ghastly (at least now) hat for my grandmother. She wore it proudly; even in public! It started my love for needle art of all kinds.

Love the colours and what a beautiful pattern. Yesterday was the 18 th year of the passing of my son and I was remembering a movie we went to just the two of us. Re-lived that moment and felt rather sad but happy to have the wonderful memory. It was a few months after that that he passed away and it is a bittersweet memory.

THIS is gorgeous!!! And the yarn looks so squishy and soft. Memories help me to heal from losing my only child, Corrina, 18 years ago. Every night before bed I choose a time period in her short life (she was 18 when she passed away) and I think back and choose a memory to fall asleep with. Last night I remembered the day I brought that beautiful baby home from the hospital. I remember being a nervous wreck but all I wanted to do was hold her, watch her sleep, count her tiny fingers and toes, and just watch her breathe. So, that is the memory that I'm carrying with me today!!

What a beautiful pattern! It's perfect for my return to knitting. Writing from South Africa, I've just returned from visiting my daughter who's working in Ireland. The country is beautiful but most precious was the time we spent together exploring the country or just chilling on the couch having mother-daughter conversations and relishing our time together. Thank you for your beautiful patterns; I've been enjoying your crochet patterns and look forward to tackling this knit one.

This looks scrumptious! I'm already working on a TARDIS blanket and a gazillion other projects (yes, I'm a nerd), but I'll have to add to my list! As for my memory, we got an elderly rescue kitty not long ago. I said no cats (I'm allergic), but my bf wouldn't leave the shelter without her. She was TERRIFIED of us for months. Now though, having her lay on my legs with my hedgehog in my shirt while I'm stitching away might be the best memory I'll ever have.

Chandi - thank you for always making me smile! I love watching your Tuesday lives and your tutorials! This week I got to visit a dear friend and her kids -- we sat around a campfire with old and new friends, shared stories, drank tea, ate frozen custard, told "getting to know you" and "I remember when" stories, and it was truly glorious. I would LOVE to make one of these blankets for our next campfire!

One of my fondest memories is of being young , before starting at school, sitting playing with my toys and my mum sitting knitting with the radio on a programme called listen with mother. It was during the winter, dark outside , but cosy in our small home. When I think back to that time it makes me smile but sad at the same time as my mum is no longer here for me to make more memories with. X K

This pattern inspires me to continue my efforts at re-learning how to knit. I’m definitely making progress, so, soon I’ll feel capable enough to try this pattern. My most recent fondest memory if of our family reunion in July in Michigan. I saw cousins that I haven’t seen in more than 50 years, and some relatives I’d never met. My 98 year old aunt was able to attend, which was a treat for all. Wonderful memories!

I love this blanket! It reminds me of my days(eons ago)😅 in high school when we were supposed to take Home Economics class, which taught cooking & and sewing. I told my mom, "Why do I have to take that class when you and my Auntie's can teach me all I need to know?"🤷🏽‍♀️ She said, Dee Dee, we don't know everything, they may teach you something new." ... I just could not imagine that. She was a Seamtress. One auntie, tailored clothes and the other made beautiful leather & knit pocketbooks (on the sewing machine) knitted & crocheted. They all were GREAT cooks!! What do I need Home Economics for😅 They have all passed away. I carry them in my heart and every time I complete a project, I thank all 3 of them. 🙏🏽

Such a beautiful blanket... i love how you wear it too, ive been known to walk around the house in a blanket. A recent photograph of my neice triggered a memory i had long forgotten. She was at the seaside with her mum making sand castles, and i remembered making very similar ones with her father, who we lost 3 years ago on the 19th of this month. She is 7 now and the smile as she showed me her creation with seaweed and pebble decorations reminded me so much of my little brother as a child. We were 11 years apart so i spent a lot of time caring for him while my mum was at work. He may have only been here for 4 years of her little life but that smile reminds me he is in her somewhere, and so still with us also. Lots of love and many thanks for your generostity each week. Blessings. ❤

Oh wow, I love when patterns have different stitch patterns throughout! A recent memory I will cherish forever would be coming back to the barn where I took riding lessons. I hadn't visited in probably half a year, but when I stepped out into the pasture, all the horses came running to me for attention. It was so rewarding to have these huge animals remember me and come racing over for love. 💕

Adding this pattern to my knit someday queue! One of my most treasured memories is reading books to my kids after bath time in our huge soft armchair. It was just the right width for them to cuddle up on either side of me in their jammies with their little pink toes next to my knees and we’d read and read and read! We still have that chair and my adult kiddos can’t decide who gets to take it someday.

I also have so many cherished memories, my most recent is I crocheted a bag for a friends little girl as a thank you gift, she made me a delightful card when I wasn't well. This little girl is thrilled with her bag. This actually humbled me as it was only a simple item but brought someone else so much joy.
