Easy Simple Jazz Piano Tutorial 🎹
Музыка
A piano tutorial on how to play simple Jazz piano, using a few basic ideas that will instantly sound gratifyingly Jazz. If you're a beginner to Jazz piano and would like to begin playing/improvising something but don't want to get too bogged down with the theory, just implement these simple ideas, and explore the possibilities!
The style of Jazz I demonstrate in this Piano lesson could be likened to background Cocktail Jazz, and also has a Studio Ghibli-esque feel.

May i please ask that you please please do a St james infirmary, the Hugh Laurie version. I think you'd play that beautifully and it's a very interesting song to do and learn.

I'm sure it's not easy being piano teacher, let alone having to prepare and digitally publish the leasons isn’t it? I do hope those who have found the ideal teacher really are thankful and acknowledge their skills. Thanks Francesca, always looking forward to the next one. You're simply awesome!

Ooooh, this is so cool. Always find myself doing some random 'plinky-plonking' after I'm done practicing, but this is awesome for giving it a little form. Love this!
my cousin asked me to play at her wedding next year! she wouldn’t have asked me if it wasn’t for your tutorials so i wanted to thank you 🤍
When you played that progession, loving you, Minnie Riperton, came to mind. Took me back to the 70's. Thanks 🙏✌️
Literally asking questions ("What would you like for dinner?") and forming answers ("I was thinking pizza.") to make phrases with different syllables i.e. rhythms is genius! Thank you so much for that tip! Great videos. So glad I found you!

Bits of chords are enough, even an iota of knowledge is valuable, thanks.
More jazz tutorials would be awesome. I always wanted to know how to create jazzy chords.
I'm all for more jazz-based videos. I'm pretty far beyond the level you're showing here, but this is still something I'll play around with.
Thanks, perfect little piece for me as I’m just starting to learn jazz theory and 7 chords.

Hey Francesca Mam I love this tutorial. Thank you 🤩🤩
Let's go, I've been wanting to learn easy jazz chords for pretty long, thanks
LOVE your questions and answer examples to use!!!! :-) Thank you for another great lesson, Francesca!!! Appreciate it a lot!
You seriously just blew my mind 🤯, I've been playing for a few months and stumble on to this just few minutes ago and I'm at awe learning from this video. Keep up the good work great breakdown with the question and answer.
Definitely try this one 🤩
Merci beaucoup for this. Stay cool.
i have no knowledge of music theory and dont know how to play piano at all, but your lesson really inspires me, the chords you play are so beautiful, just like the piece Dudley Moore plays in movie 10. i start playing some of your chords on my keyboard with left hand, and find it so pleauring to listen, then try to add a few notes forming very simple melody, all of a sudden i found myself making a 15-seconds song, never think of capable doing this wonderful thing without any formal musical training, i want like to complete the song oneday to my very special one, thank so much Francesca, you really change my life.

Thank you so very much Francesca for this simple and effective tutorial. Your instruction confirms the way I am starting to develop my left hand chord progression and that is a big plus for me. I came back to playing the piano after an absence of 40 years and now I realize how huge my limitations have become as far as technical agility. I was trained for classical music in my 20s and it seems that the muscle memory recovery keeps pushing me to play the melodies (in jazz) improvs to sound like a lot more classical than say modern jazz. What advice or pointers could you give me to overcome that would be tremendously appreciated.
Thank you

just wanted to add i really liked your "basic" pentatonic melody at 4:25 and i managed to make a lofi beat from it( it was very lofi-sounding so i kinda had to :)
Thank you very much for your style in teaching, you make things that I would not have attempted doable, albeit my version lol, but isn't that what piano/keyboard is all about Diolch/thanks again.
Nice

please make more tutorial about bebop jazz improvisation. Thanks
Great video! To the point and very informative. Do you suggest any other videos for learning slow jazz? I’m looking to be able to simply improvise some slow, easy listening jazz like on this video, where I had enough material to actually sit down at a restaurant or hotel piano bar and play. Not looking to play with others or learn specific songs… just improvise. I know jazz can be hard, but I also know with a solid foundation of the basics one could “fake” being a long time pro.. curious on your guidance/direction. Thank you!!!!
