    thanks! Prayer plants are my favorite. I like to root a cutting and have one more prayer plant every now and then. Just wish I could find one of the other kinds so I could have a variety around the house.

    That was a great video, thanks ! I'm actually struggling with my maranta. Everytime she pop up a new leaf, an older one gets pushed out. I think she suffered from low humidity and to much heat I already checked for pests, she's good Anyway, I changed her environment and hope this is enough for her to get better and thrives

    I question how minerals and salt in tap water 'evaporate'. Is it not that water evaporates and leaves the salts behind?

  • @annabughman1886

    It’s really the chlorine from treatment that evaporates and is safer for the plant.

    This is a great video, and I am wondering if my plant is actually a prayer plant. My pot is filled with little plants so that I can’t even find the soil. It is nothing like growing a philodendron. I need to do some more research.

    They have a slow growth rate and tend to stay more on the smaller side. They usually only require repotting every 2-3 years.

    We suggest moving your plant to a location with indirect light (especially if it is receiving too much light) and begin watering with purified water. A dose of liquid iron fertilizer mixed per package directions can help correct the possibility of chlorosis. It could also be time to repot. 🌿

    How minerals and salt in tap water 'evaporate'. The water will evaporate and concentrate salts and minerals in water! What you mentions, it's only good if you have to remove chlorine in the water! So now, it's hard to trust her about the other information in this video...! Message to Laura, if you are a specialist, you cannot do a mistake like that!!

    I have a question about the prayer plant Can you put pebbles underneath the plant do you have to take off the saucer that goes on the bottom of the plant or can you keep it on

  • @Gardeningknowhow

    @Gardeningknowhow

    6 ай бұрын

    To create a more humid environment, I would suggest to add a layer of pebbles atop the saucer, add a bit of water, then place the plant in it's pot on the top of the pebbles.

    While the linked video does pertain to orchids, the information would be identical for any other houseplant that prefers a humid environment: kzread.info/dash/bejne/qWF-pNNrXbCZnps.htmlsi=7AxOV43P7IuTRAGn (skip to 3:18)

    What is the best way to clean the leaves of my prayer plant? I have a cutting that a friend gave me that was kind of long and spindly and I cut it up into four or five different pieces and it is growing like crazy and I haven't even moved it from the water yet! It's very exciting!😅

    My plant looks terrible in that the edges are all brown. It has bloomed at times and is growing well except for the large ugly brown edges. I use spring water, and it doesn't help. The leaves eventually turn brown on the edges. Please help.😢

    This is a very common problem, unfortunately. The issue could be related to watering, excessive sunlight, insufficient humidity, excess salts, and more. I am going to link a page from our website that helps to diagnose this exact issue. I hope helps. www.gardeningknowhow.com/houseplants/prayer-plant/brown-leaves-on-prayer-plants.htm
