    Thank you! I don't have a printer at home, so I just saved it as a PDF, zoomed so that your VERY helpful chart was to scale, and then put paper over my screen and lightly traced. Putting that scale on was such a brilliant idea!

    This is a great tutorial for someone like me who is just learning how to sew! I thought I wanted to try making the pleated style until I ordered one of each style and tried them. For me, the pleated style was hot and uncomfortable, both in disposable and in cotton. This style is much more comfortable for wearing a longer period of time. I'm glad I waited to decide which style to try making. I'm amazed at how easy this is. After making some for myself, I'll start making them for others.

    Easy pattern! So happy with this! THANK YOU! For smaller nose people: I altered the pattern a bit because the nose piece was a bit big for me (gaping at the top). It worked better if I flattened the shape down to create less of a curve. Happy sewing!

    I've liked making this mask - mainly because the step by step tutorial is very easy to follow. It's also a great fitting mask. I used straightened out paperclips with their ends turned in for the nose wire. I'd made 2 others before I found this one and now this will be the method I'll use for all our masks. At the moment I've been quickly able to make one for each of the 4 of us. Thank you so much for taking the trouble to shoot and post this.

    This is a brilliant design, I'm sad to still be making them over 1 year on, but thank you so much. The behind the head elastic is much more comfortable and convenient if you want to take masks on and off. It's also much better for my mum as the behind the ear ones knock her hearing aids out.

    Love this mask! I made 2 so far! (I had some adorable fabric that I was just waiting to use for something, and here it is!) I used the Women's measure, and it fit nicely! I sewed the straps a little differently (so that they just hooked around my ears) and it still worked wonderfully. If you do this strap-sewing method, I recommend pinning the strap with a pin and trying on the mask to see if it fits correctly (be careful to pin away from your ears). I can't figure out my new sewing machine so I ended up hand sewing, but it still turned out beautifully! Can't wait to show them off at work! Lots of love!

  • @tara8668

    @tara8668

    Melissa Davenport I’m not who you addressed, but I have made two and am currently working on my third. For a women’s mask over the ear style, I think I used about 8cm for each string. I’m not completely sure about that number, however. I suggest pinning the strings to the mask and estimating for yourself.
