Oh, my gosh. Yes! Had forgotten about that. In the seventies, all the moms in my neighborhood stayed home. Can remember them all having music on during the day. As you went to friend's houses, there was a lot of this. The very young mom's had stuff like The Carpenters, etc... What memories. Everything seemed orderly.

Back in the 70’s an older Aunt my sister and I stayed with had this stuff playing all the time. I found it so peaceful that when I was 13 in the early 80’s I found an AM channel that played it. I’d come home from the stress of middle school and junior high and take a nap to this type of music. I agree with another commenter, a lot of suburban moms in the 70’s had this playing in the house. Good times.

I’m 71 years old and grew up on the Jersey shore. I was a teenager in the 60s and remember that my mother kept the radio in our home tuned to this kind of music. I loved it then and it’s my fave genre today. It was called elevator music back then, easy listening now. I don’t care what they call it, I still love it.

I grew up around Wildwood, NJ. This music was always on in the dentist and Dr office. We also had a community events channel that posted dinners, meetings and summertime promos. No video, just text. THIS music was always on. I believe they still have it. We go to Cape May and look for it on the TV at night.

As a true optimist, even I struggle to see good in these days, approaching 2024. I usually look forward, and am at the point right now, that looking back feels happier. I miss common decency, respect, warm greetings, and service with a smile. I miss disagreement without being offended by everything. I miss not knowing all of the bad news in every corner of the earth, but knowing my neighbors. I miss safe town squares, pretty dresses, and manners. If only for a few moments, this music puts me there. Thank you

May your wife rest in peace. And indeed, sweet music is a kindred solace.... But you are never alone as long as you have Jesus Christ in your heart and soul and mind. The Holy Family of Jesus Mary and Joseph will never leave you when you let them into your life. Now that your wife is gone you can know that you have an eternal family that will guide you, maybe to meet your beloved wife again someday in a much better place. Stay in prayer and The Lord will bring you The Peace you need to get through this life; aling with all of the wonderful good memories of her. May our Father GOD, The Son, & The Holy Spirit be with you, Sir.

I was raised in L.A. in the 70's. As a youngin', during my naps, the little clock radio in the kitchen would be tuned to KJOI FM 99...playing this type of music. It was soothing, but even more so, it taught me about melody. I remember I tended to, not just listen to the "surface" sounds, but really focused on how each instrument played off, around and with each other. I had no average ear. At age 8 or 9 years , Steely Dan's "Deacon Blues" was my favorite song. Thanks for the upload 😀 and the memories. 🎶

Yes. We'd put on a rock n roll station while Mom was in the back of the house. Just to mess with and antagonize her. Kinda mean when I think about it now, but she took it in stride. She was a "housewife". Dad passed in 2001 and Mom barely survived Covid at the end of 2020 (after following all the rules). Would give anything/everything to go back to my childhood for one year. To see my parents young and healthy and both alive together. To relive everything I took for granted.

The call letters WEZW are now being used by a radio station in Wildwood Crest New Jersey, located on 93.1 on the dial, and plays classic oldies. In these fast paced times, we need more instrumental easy listening music stations to help us relax! 😊

Suddenly it’s 1976, and I’m seven, and in that short period of bliss when my mom and I were living with my grandparents, who always had on KEZK in St. Louis. Before my mom met the guy I thought would be the dad I’d always wanted and needed. The guy who turned out to be an absolute horror of a human being. A little of this is good therapy for some of us.

I like hard rock, funk, disco, country and THIS. There used to be a station in palm springs that would play originals and instrumentals. Through a hotel clock radio, it was time machine. I'd think of my mother (long gone) and I would've liked to dance with her to this.

Growing up in the 60’s and 70’s, my dad kept the HiFi on the easy listening station in our living room. That’s how I learned pop music, only these instrumental versions. I used to record on my cassette recorder my favorites. Imagine my surprise to hear the vocal originals later. What a time warp this is and somewhat haunting.

I'm 12 too and I appreciate this sort of music as well. My parents generation was soo much better without phones or the Internet. Sometimes, believe it or not, I get bored with technology and I wish we could go back to when the fun was outside or in your mind...

@@doryjr2827 wow to think there are young people that appreciate this? I'm in my 50s and if you asked me at your age what I thought of this music I would have said it sucked. But today, it brings back memories and reminds me of just how much crazier we have allowed our lives to become. I hope you remember this as you grow older, if not your appreciation for this music but the one message I am going to give. As you get older and begin to take part more and more in the world, don't let yourself be played or suckered into the rat race for the sake of all the toys that the corporations will more than likely have waiting to market to you then. They will convince the bulk of your friends and aquaintences that these things are necessary and you will need them for your business, your schooling, and to keep up with your acquaintences. That is all just more sophisticated marketing techniques to sell you the very things that will bury you under an avalance of anxiety. Not to mention debt.
