Have to wheelchair and NOW THANKS TO YOU I CAN DO FOR MYSELF. GOD BLESS YOU!!
I use a power wheelchair. I prefer the washable swiffer pads. The ones you use are too expensive for me. Thanks for sharing. I'm going to start a KZread channel as well and share my life in a power chair. Thanks again.
Great video and happy to see a loving supportive couple. I have slowly become disabled over the last 10 years. My husband passed away 7 years ago and I have no help and not much emotional support or help from family either. I'm very, very isolated, have little to no contact with others and I go days, sometimes weeks without the immediate help that is needed such as; reaching items, changing linens, etc etc. These tips are very helpful. Thanks

NinnyMcPhee I’m glad these videos are helpful to you! I’m sorry to hear about your husband. Have you ever considered finding local support groups? I’ve found that groups like that are really helpful. If you’re interested, feel free to email me at meanttobelindseyb@hotmail.com with more info. I’d love to help connect you with people in your area. 💕
ahhh what a great video! i'm not a wheelchair user, but i love it that you mentioned people w/ dexterity issues, because i have a lot of pain and weakness in my hands, and my husband has tremors, so those are good tips for us. plus, it's really hard to find videos about cleaning/organizing that spotlight accessibility. thanks!

And the reminder about the nifty nabber will help a lot with me not being able to reach some of my plants that are in a corner I can't get into. He can, but it's a pain and I'm afraid he will hurt himself.
Hey, it's aWESome hubby! ;) Another thing I use is an upright dustpan (the kind they use at theme parks and such). No bending down necessary.

Thank you so much! 😊
I use my grabbing stick and a damp cloth to mop.
I'm so glad I found you! I have all these you mentioned, but I literally carry cheap baby wipes in my walker. They're the best for quick clean up and spills!

I ALWAYS have baby wipes on me.
Random tip relative to the Swiffer wetjet for financial savings (excuse if already commented!): when the pop-out liquid container is empty you can use hot water to loosen the cap and screw-and-pull it off and just fill it with clean water and some Pinesol/whatever cleaning agent you want! I love the Swiffer wetjet but I do agree it’s heavy though with the liquid tank.

Oh wow! Thanks for this tip. I had no idea.
I tend to use a rubber head broom on my carpets, because I don't have the strength for a vacuum cleaner, and have too long hair for robot vacuums. I sit down safe and lean my weight to push the broom a few meters. It gets up so much dust and grot.
Thank you for the tips Lindsey. I was in a car accident and even though I can walk I can't walk without a walker and I live alone. The one thing I've been having trouble with is figuring different ways to clean house. One of my big hurdles has been running vacuum cleaner because it's so heavy and trying to position it in the right direction is difficult as well and then mopping my floors. You are an inspiration to me thank you for sharing your private life with people like me so that we feel a little more encouraged.

I'm so glad you found my channel. If there are any videos you want to see, let me know! I love getting viewer input for ideas. :)
I have a broom like that but the tray thing is on a long stick as well and they can click together and stand in a corner, it's one of the best things EVER!!!
Wow! I am so happy I watched your video before I bought a mop and other cleaning products. Thanks for all the advice.

Cheri De Hart Thanks! I appreciate the support! 💜
Great review
I pay someone once a week to do majority of cleaning. lol I actually miss cleaning as I enjoy it. I do dusting and I have a lightweight duster with ergonomic handle...they do a long handled one too which I may get just hope it isn't too heavy. My supposedly lightweight hoover weighs a tonne!!! lol

On occasion, we have someone come to do a deep clean, but very, very rarely.
Thanks for the tips...and your wheelchair is the bomb!
I love nifty naber and have 3
Return tip: I am planning to hire (a) neighborhood kid(s) to detail mine, maybe later this summer. . .
A good recommendation is for a long handled dust pan. I wouldn't be without mine.

Thanks for the tip!
Thank you for this video. I am a disabled veteran and suffer from fybromalgia, RA, osteopenia, arthritis, and have had 15 surgeries. I plan on moving into a single floor home and trying to find ways to make cleaning easier for myself. May I ask how the wet jet floor mop does on wooden floors? I am worried about making the floor "too wet"

Hope this video helps in some way then! P.S. Don’t overspray and they do great! 😊
Hi Lindsey! I know this is an older video but I was wondering if you have any tips on how to clean kitchen counters? The ones we have are so far back, I find it hard to reach in my wheelchair (I also have Spina Bifida). Thanks!

Thanks for reaching out! My suggestions would be to actually wrap a towel around the duster that I show in the video and have it sprayed with cleaning products (or wrap it with a cleaning wipe) to give you more reach… or you could get a scrubber sponge on a stick like you use for the shower/bathtub or a kit like this: amzn.to/3fHId1F or even just a dish scrubber sponge stick like this one: amzn.to/3hicSmt I have a couple of other ideas as well but those are the things that come to mind at the moment. Hope this helps! 😊
Pretty much all washers/dryers are front loading in my country.
@NatandGeorge

almost all household ones are top loading washers & front loading dryers here in Canada. In coin-op laundromatys, almost all are front loading *the top loading washers are small, like household ones)
Your grabbers can you link them and are they sturdy how are they for getting cans off the shelf

They are listed in the description below the video, but here ya go! Also, it could work, but I wouldn't 100% trust it, but they are pretty sturdy. They aren't rubber grips on the part that pinches down though, so I guess it depends on how heavy the cans are. The device as a whole (especially the bigger one) is really solid though. The smaller one is lighter weight and not quite as sturdy but both are still better than any other brand I've ever tried. -Unger Nifty Nabber Pro 51": amzn.to/2E2AYbt -Unger Professional Nifty Nabber, 36”: amzn.to/2J1KGyL

@@MeantToBeLindseyB thank you a bit of rubber glue might work for the rubber grips or maybe rubber bands
@MeantToBeLindseyB
5 жыл бұрын
@@mothersnyder I don't know if rubber bands would work, but *maybe* rubber glue. I still wouldn't try it with bigger glass jars though personally (just to be on the safe side). :)
How do you reach back over the washer to turn the water on?
@MeantToBeLindseyB

It’s a front loading washer and dryer. All of the dials are on the front. 😊
I have a hidden disability. Sometimes I don't have enough energy to do much. I really appreciate you making this video and taking your time to show us what you use. I keep cleaning wipes everywhere. Bathroom, Car, Kitchen cleaning caddy. Also keep small hands broom everywhere. I hang them up near my waste baskets. To clean around and under.They're good for cleaning window seals, Around your computer desk too. And every time I get out of the shower Clean shower floor with a long handle brush. These are just some suggestions to keep on top of things and I definitely have all the little tools that you suggested. And of course if you can afford help every now and then ,that's a blessing. Say once ,a week Or for special occasions like holidays , if you were going to have guessed. I. Don't get this kind of help,But it's wonderful if you can afford it. Especially for someone with limitations like me.
I'm t6 para f Co. I love ❤️ your video
