I'm in the final steps of crafting Nevermore, Exordium and Ad Infinitum all together. I'm feeling a bit burnt out lol but it's a fun journey, even more so the first 4 Gen-2 ones with T4 collections instead of the unsavory Mystic Curio/Shard sink. I particularly enjoy the few that come with extra items and fluff such as Chuka's tiger cub backpieces so my next one will probably be The Howler!

Also, to all planning their legendaries here, just be aware that they do take a big lot of time, if you're not already part of the rich crew here. Leggys are worth about 1000-3000 gold (depending on which one you go for), and if you craft them, you will need to farm items or gold of that worth by some means. I've just finished my second legy (Exordium, it's so beautiful *_*), and realised that I began the grinding and farming process a bit more than a year ago. I do log in daily and probably play an hour daily on average (most likely more, I might have lost count). On my first legendary, Astralaria, I grinded so hard that I lost all motivation for GW2 several times and took long breaks from the game. So please go easy on yourselves and try to find joy in the game, because if you only focus on the grind, it can get frustrating easily.

@@Zariem twilight and sunrise cost ~1400 gp if you buy absolutely everything. Any given gen 2 will run you at minimum 2100 gp, but usually is closer to 2300. Like you said in initial post, it's long term goal, and make smaller goals so you don't get burnt out farming.

@@Zariem I agree, love the 2nd gen! They used to be a lot more expensive, but since the living world season 4 maps, prices dropped a lot due to easier access to mats :)

Wow, I've already crafted a few legendaries, and remember struggling to keep all the steps organized, constantly having to look at recipe lists and guides, but this guide was the best organized one I've come across. Easy to understand and really put the whole process into a simple organized process. Leaned some new things too. Great video! Everyone interested in crafting legendary weapons should watch this video. I'd go so far as to say Anet should even feature this somewhere. It's very well done.

For Mystic clover, you forget another way to get them : Repeatable achievements on the last map "Glory to the [...] Legion" Last chest of each of those achiev give you 2 clovers. Those achiev also give some tier 6 mats. It's long but a little bonus anyway

Obsidian Shard can also be obtained from a guild merchant Sigurlina Jonsdottir. 5 shards for 1 commendation, but it's limited to 3 purchases per day. So you can get 15 shards for 3 commendations daily.

I prefer to keep commendation to get ascended stuff, but true its also possible :)

I started crafting my first leggies in march, and once i know how to find the mats, the process gets faster. its november now, n im almost done with my fourth legendary with minimum play time

no, most of legendary for giveaways are bought on the trading post, but I sometimes craft some :)

I crafted on 2nd Gen Legendary and it cured me of wanting more Legendarys for a bit. I eventually finished the Legendary backpack because I realized I already had everything I needed to do the PvP one. I keep flirting with the idea of doing another weapon, but I might to a trinket instead. I’d love to see a video on those.

also don't forget to do your daily _Legendary Ley Line Anomaly_ for a guaranteed Mystic Coin, 50s in trash loot, plus chest & mats. Can be looted only once per day per account, spawns every 2 hours in Gendarran Fields, Timberline Falls or Iron Marches (check World Boss Timer on Wiki). Great guide and Bonus Tips, thanks!

You can go for the ascended armor/trinkets first, & then go for legendary :) which leg will you craft ?

@@Cellofrag I love both yes. I like bolt with the spark effect, but I don't like the design of the sword very much. On the other hand, I like The Shining Blade design a lot, so that makes it very difficult for me to decide.

:D the thing about WvW is absolutely correct. I am the worst PvP player worldwide and i HAAAATE PvP but once i entered WvW i just fell in love with it.

a (almost) 1 hour video without ads ? on youtube ? this must be... cellofrag !

I have a long way to go. right now I am saving up for living world season 3 and 4 which is around 550 gold(already bought one episode for because I thought the whole thing cost 200 gems). then I am going for the beetle and skyscale mount I am pre doing that as of now, then I am going to craft zojja set for my ranger class(I would need 500 in leatherworking and huntsman which I am almost done), I am grinding in drizzlewood coast meta which I found more effective then sliverwaste meta I make like 30 to 40 golds a day sometimes 100 depending on if I get exotic which I got once that cost 50 gold. man it's a hustle.

Wow, I'm closer to crafting one than I thought. And I'm just a 6 months old player. 😆

You also win 2 mystic clovers at reward in the new map each time you get 5k charr commendations for a total of 8 clovers. This special Mission can be done for an infinite time.

I crafted 2 first gen leggies this year

I just want to add if you're having problems with the mystic coins you can get 1 guaranteed per day by doing Ley-Line Anomaly event, also if you like Fractal you have a chance to get 1 coin from the daily chest thats tier 2, 3 or 4, another guaranteed but non reliable way to get it is from PvE daily, if there's a "Daily Mystic Forger" daily you should always try to do it.

me: currently grinding for skyscale also me: maybe i should start working on my legendaries...

skyscale is definitely worth it and makes getting around the world wwaaayyy less work. I have both skyscale and griffon. Skyscale can reach greater heights than the springer, so you can easily climb up then switch to griffon and take off across the map - bond of faith mastery launch off the griffon in mid air and air-mount back to skyscale to hover.

@@jtjc7705 i didnt say skyscale is useless, however, when compared to the imortance of a legendary, it is. ESPECIALY when the griffon is a thing, assuming OP has one.
