Easy How To Ski or Snowboard Top Sheet Repair

In this video we will repair a lifted Top Sheet on a pair of Volkl Twin Tip Skis. This is a common thing with skis and snowboards, happens in the park, or in the lift line from others making into the back of your skis or board. Good news is this is a very easy repair, and can be done using 2-Part epoxy from your local big box store.
Items used for repair:
Clear Packaging Tape
Thin wood or Paint Stick
C-Clamps
150 grit Sand Paper
JB-Weld Clearweld 2-Part Epoxy
Please follow the directions on your specific epoxy so that you can achieve the best results. The top sheet on this ski was a fiberglass material, and the epoxy I used listed this material on their packaging.

Did you fix it and is it doing ok? I have the same problem. I didn't realize it was that bad until I was just going down a cat track la la la behind someone. I hit something and went over the edge. Yep! right over a vertical side. It wasn't that bad but I have a bad knee. All I could think about was don't fall backwards! At least if I did fall further there are trees down there to stop me. Thank goodness it was a couple months ago before all the big dumps and tree wells. I'm wondering if I hit a chunk of ice and I also had snow build up under that top sheet. Good thing three guys were behind me and one had avalanche training. He and his buddies helped pull me up and out. I just can't afford new ski's this year so am going to try to repair them for these last couple of times. I have some G-Flex West Systems epoxy I was going to use. We use it on our sailboat. What did you use?

Pretty close….
I have a 1/2" crack on the edge of my ski going horizontally. Would this epoxy work for that too? I took it someplace and they told me it might be fine or maybe it could crack while I was skiing. They're cross country skiis. Thanks.
Hey I have a question if someone can awsner me this. Would E6000 work instead? The top layer of my snowboard is peeling off.

I haven’t used E6000 to fix delamination but from what I’ve read it dries like a very strong rubber glue. It should work, but it’s also very cheap to go to the store and get 2 part epoxy, they sell them at Walmart and hardware stores and also Home Depot and Lowe’s. But if you can only get the E6000, clean up the hole and put some in, then clamp just like this guy shows with tape. You can also put heavy things on top of the board area instead of clamping if you don’t have clamps, like the leg of a piece of furniture. You definitely want to do something to seal the hole and repair it because it’s not a serious issue until water gets inside the top sheet and begins to damage the internal parts of the board and the wood.
