lmao similarly my bandmates call them chemical cookies cuz they almost suspiciously taste like chemicals, and we get very excited when after marching on the sun all day we go to get dinner and theyve brought us chemical cookies

You've just changed my life for the better. Growing up as a no-chocolate kid, these cookies to me were divine and I would *always* indulge on the rare occasions that I came across them at a party. Now you're teaching me how to make them in my own home? Holy cow. You're the best.

Can I ask how your icing came out? Because I made mine, followed the recipe exactly and my icing was melty and wasn’t thick and stayed in place like his. Maybe I did something wrong?

I remember that I ate these so much as a kid that one day I got sick and ever since then I stopped eating them. A homemade version sounds great!

I have a stand mixer but it's hard to reach and heavy to carry to the kitchen so I usually mix stuff by hand, the hardest thing so far was whipping egg whites to stiff peaks with a whisk

I saved up to buy a stand mixer a couple black Fridays ago, was only $110 and very very worth it (im a baker tho so it depends on how much you'd use it)

As a home baker, I never buy those cookies and yet when my children go to parties they tell me how happy they were to eat those very same cookies!!! LOL Just told my son that I stumbled across this recipe- I wish you could have seen his face!!! I’ve been begged to bake them ASAP!

I had no idea they even had a name, I just referred to them as the 'Soft Sugar cookies with soft icing and sprinkles'

I made these for the first time today and I loved them. They are SUPER easy to make!! For the buttercream I only put 200g of powdered sugar and next time I might even put a little less. The full 240 grams (2 cups I think) would have been WAY too sweet for me. Besides that they’re perfect. 10/10 recommend making these, and it’s way healthier than buying them from the store bc they don’t have all that extra stuff added in for preservation and whatnot :))

I call them trash cookies, I love them and I look like a rabid raccoon when I eat them.

I’ve been making these sour cream sugar cookies for 20 years! Love them!

During high school I became aware of my gluten sensitivity issues so I had to stop eating a lot of things. These were the one thing I missed and had no clue how they were made. I tried this recipe substituting for gluten free flour, and they tasted just like the real thing 😭! I am planning to make them for the winter again, they are so good.

I made these this summer for my nephew's 3 yr birthday party and covered them in sprinkles for him. He enjoyed them, but, he's 3. Our 15 yr old cousin Jesse really proved to be the family Cookie Monster as he gobbled them all up! Even the extra ones that didn't make it to the festivities. I was excited to make this recipe as I used to like those cookies from the grocery store, but the last time I had them, they were NASTY! They tasted like they were churned out of a factory that had just oiled down the machinery. These were delicious, the way a cookie is supposed to be :-)

I’ve seen these cookies my entire life and I had no idea what they were called.

I had these in Iowa while i was attending to an American elementary school a long time ago. It blew my mind cuz it was sooo sweet, bland but addictive! I cant wait to make these thank you so much!!
