Silent, could we use a tower of minecart powered rails to lift them up to the AFK spot and locate the trident killer there, so the player collects XP? Or would it take too many mine carts, seeing as they're only 1.4 blocks high according to the wiki? If this was done, it would avoid needing to make the trident killer pit at the bottom, so if buttons stop being seen as a walkable by mobs then the farm would still work

this is perfect, my nether spawn in my world is in a crismon forest biome and I've been procrastinating on making a food farm for a while so this works great! tysm silent!

Not gonna lie, I was terrified to build this in survival. It was surprisingly easy. I built the outer platforms in sections so I could get walls and torches done before the next section. Definitely going to need a sorting system. Got a couple of stacks of chops in just a few minutes! Thanks Silent!!

You can check if there is caves around your spawning platform by creating a creative copy of your world and turn on spectator mode before entering the copy of your world so you can check so you won't have to work as hard finding the caves

You could add a chest sorter and make a smoker super smelter and put a lever on it to toggle it on/off and get xp by cooking the food.

Does anyone know how to fix the hoglins from getting stuck in the corners of the first level of the farm? Ive AFKd for 24 hours and just got over 2 stacks of leather 😢

I afked over night and got 11,840 cooked pork chops 3456 leather Or if you want it in stacks 185 stacks of cooked pork chops 54 stacks of leather Or if you want it in shulker boxes Almost 7 full shulker boxes of cooked pork chops 2 shulker boxes of leather (This is in a 10 hour time frame)

So in my world in my previous version of this farm, hoglins don't care squat about warped fungus anymore (ie, they aren't scared of it). 1.20.15

Nice tutorial

Just built this, I modified the campfire to a block of netherrack on fire and that works fine. The trident killer is very buggy tho, even if i switch the farm off and relog, the trident falls just short of the trapdoor. It appears to still be on top but it actually isn’t and you have to manually place it every time. Isn’t a major issue but i think a new trident killer is needed for the farm! Edit: Even tho the rates aren’t as superior, the more reliable option is a lava-blade with collection underneath.

i thym you are the best and only Redstone on bedrock edition

built today 5/31/23 and it works like a charm. Just swap the campfire for netherrack on fire and adjust the chest location and you are good to go

hey Silent! I found an interesting positive bug that you might not know yet(?) I doubt it but I'd like to share it anyway. So when you kill salmons (I haven't tried cod yet) with a looting 3 sword, they drop a lot of bones. I'm talking like 6 - 8 per salmon, like it's insane. I haven't played Minecraft in like 6 weeks so it might've been patched but it's a fun bug.

I made the Hoglins farm but the previous one was the one with trapdoors on the roof for more efficiency and because there weren't many tutorials, let's say XD

I hope we will get resource pack or something which can render biome border.

I see one immediate improve ment you can make to this design. Its the kill chamber its only killing one at a time when you could easily make it so it kills them all at once. Thus getting more off the cap sooner allowing more to come in faster.

Are you going to make a portal gold farm?

Campfires don't light up the Hoglins on fire anymore, so just sneak in lava at the exact identical spot, you'll need to make some minor tweaks so the lava doesn't flow out from the sides.

How do you stop the baby hoglins from clogging up the system? They don't seem to die like the rest.

bonemeal the ground in a warped forest, you'll got a lot of fungi :) or build a fungi farm 👀 i got a tutorial for that

A word of warning if you have a bee farm in the nether don't build this farm near it. It looks like the bees take up the mob cap and prevent hoglins from spawning. Learned that one the hard way 👍

You can breed hoglins with crimson fungi and I have no clue why would you, because it doesn't make them any less aggressive, but also this farm is possible XD

Hogs get stuck in the corners,the camp fire doesn’t catch them on fire,and trident is there but doesn’t kill them unless I throw it again but this is in 1.21. So you need to change the camp fire to netherack with a flame it works still haven’t figured out the corner problem.

hey Silent! I built this and it works great! However, all of the goblins on one side see the fungus inside the killer and run away from it before they fall into the kill chamber. is there a way to keep this from happening?

Sure, although it would be more complicated to build of course and slower to kill the hoglins. An advantage might be that the trident would be less likely to fall off and less likely to need rethrowing. Personally I would think the trapdoor trident killer in the tutorial would be better

When was the button change reverted back to working like trapdoors? I was under the impression that they had no intention of changing it after changing it in 1.16

The piglins were not killed by the trident killer! I checked if the trident slides down but it doesn't always after like 10 min they don't get killed anymore which is very frustrating. I could really use your help :/

I have not been successful with these farms yet. Right after I built the previous version of this farm, Hoglins on my world are not scared of the funny mushrooms anymore (warped fungus). *cries*

Why use buttons instead of trapdoors? Don't trapdoors count as walkable blocks for the mob AI, achieving the same effect?

You could but sometimes mobs will get stuck on the edge of the trapdoor
