I have very fond memories of queueing up at the Baker's with our own customized recipe ingredients .. rum soaked fruits nuts and raisins .. I remember the overnight job of cutting the nuts to smaller bits .. if they are not they are heavier and tend to settle at the bottom while .. the secret ingredient is the flavour of nutmeg and some other spices which gives them the indian twist.

Hey Ranveer I have used your recipe 3 times, n indeed the results were fabulous, In Canada fruit cakes are made bit different n I am being novice in baking tried all those methods but that was not the one image that I had for a fruit cake I had in India. Hats off to you Sir, using your recipe it took me to the closest match. Thanks from heart.

I am overwhelmed with this channel. Almost all bakers in all small towns in India were Muslims and they used to make Christmas year after year..........is the most touching part for us and it shows how diversified and inter exchangeable Indian culture is, and that is the social beauty!

One of my uncle used to get it baked by a Muslim baker in Turkman gate (Delhi) n boy! it was awesome!!

I didn't knew this tradition actually came from Kerala . I'm from Kerala and every year during Christmas I remember spending time with my dad to make Christmas cake. It became like a yearly family tradition

My Dad use to take all the ingredients to baker, which was booked in advance as he would bake maximum 50 cakes as we were the only Christian Family in the Colony and it use to be open house for Cake,savouries and coffee for friends and Family.
