I made this recipe with walnuts and 3/4 of a small banana instead of sliced apple and - WOW!!!! Also, I prefer my French Toast a bit crispier, so I cooked it uncovered at 375 on convection for 40 mins I won't be able to eat French Toast any other way now.

Yeah, I don't like soggy, I prefer it on the "crispier" side, which has prevented me from making this, actually. I have seen this recipe for years, but i don't like soggy bread. However, it is New Year's Day 2021, so I figured I may as well start it out with a bang, since, I am pretty sure this year won't be any better than last year. I am not a pessimistic person, I always see the positive in any given situation, however, by the looks of things, 2021 is going to be worse, than 2020. Anyway, thank you, for sharing how long you bake yours, so it is "crispier."

I'm so glad this recipe was shared on my timeline. I have been looking for a baked French toast casserole for years that pleased me. I stumbled upon baked French toast in a Corner Store bakery in Chicago and I was hooked. Unfortunately, I live in Detroit so driving 4 hours to each this dish was not an option every Sunday. I love that you added apples to this dish. That's a wow factor for me! I'm definitely going to make this casserole for one of my Sunday brunches!!

I made this for Christmas and it was sooo good! I doubled the recipe and baked it in a 9x13, but I used half the amount of nutmeg, cinnamon, butter and brown sugar and it came out perfect! Not too sweet. I also baked it at 350 for about 40 minutes covered with foil half of the cooking time.

I am going to make this, then top it with the caramel sheets, that you use to make caramel apples, that you can buy, by the apples in the grocery store. Caramel apple French toast. Yum. I am, also, going to use the Pepperidge farm Cinnamon bread and thank you for making that topping, some of the recipes I see, do not use a topping, or, instead, say to sprinkle cinnamon and sugar over it after it bakes. It should be baked with it, that will make a nice crispy top to it. TYFS.

Recipe said 2 cups of cut bread…but you said 4 cups during video? 1 Tablespoon of cinnamon? But you didn’t use the Tablespoon size you used for maple syrup. Don’t remember if the nutmeg or vanilla was confusing too?
