EASY FLOWER POLYMER CLAY TUTORIALS

Do you need clay flowers for hair accessories, home decoration, jewelry or cake topper?
Learn how to make mini polymer clay flowers with these simple tutorials.
It is really very easy to make polymer clay flowers that include leaves and stems, and their beauty rivals real flowers of all varieties.
It's better to mix colors to create a new and more realistic looking color. Colors taken directly from the package are typically too bright and too rich to look realistic, but they can be grayed down with darker colors or lightened with the addition of white or other light hues.
Give this video a thumb up to see more tutorials :)

That is air dry clay not polymer. There’s a Claycraft air dry brand clay bag in the shot with the green clay at 6:40. Also using water based paints such as gouache with polymer will cause bubbles in the clay when it bakes.

This is either air dry clay or cold porcelain. Most flower tutorial videos, especially in this format, seem to actually be cold porcelain. You can tell because there's no baking involved, the texture of the clay when they're pulling it apart (more taffy-like), and because it would take a bit of extra work to form petals that way with polymer clay. Using the large ball tool like that, for example, just makes the polymer clay stick to it. It's not IMPOSSIBLE that it's polymer clay here, but it's pretty unlikely. Wish they'd stop just cutting & pasting Instagram videos and mislabelling them.

Honestly I'm pretty sure it's either air dry clay or cold porcelain. I see these kinds of tutorials for making flowers all the time and whenever I try them with polymer clay they never seem to form the right way (like the petal edges especially, and when you try using that big ball tool the clay just sticks to it). Found out one day that most of the videos were using cold porcelain. They all tag it as polymer clay, probably to get more views or just misguided in thinking polymer clay would work the same way.

It’s polymer clay. There are a bunch of different kinds. Only use premium clay for this kind of work. I like primo sculpey,, FIMO Professional, and Kato Polyclay. Typically you’re gonna pay 2.50-3$ for 2oz brick. Also important to remember with this kind of clay; the quality of different clays goes from awesome to unusable real quick. But that’s just my opinion. Charles

Eivind Krey Hanssen man I’m trying to understand your meaning but I sincerely don’t. But I will say this based on my experience: polymer clay is the most versatile material that I’ve used. It’s basically acrylic paint with polymer as the binder. There is a ton of confusion over pe, even amongst other professionals. But what I find fascinating is that you can use your color theory and color mixing skills to achieve many different looks. You can also achieve different consistencies by adding liquid binders to the clay. My point is that imo this is one of the easiest mediums to play around with but perhaps the most difficult to truly master. So if you’re angry with polymer clay I’m sure that the fault is with your understanding, and not with the clay or the great techniques shown in this video. Humbly, Charles

@@ChartingCharlie lol. I've got nothing against PC, i use FIMO myself. My point is, the material in the video does not look like Polymer Clay, but air dry clay or porcelain clay. Why, because I cant see any signs of them baking it. I have heard of Polymer clay that air dries /hardens without baking, but none have shown me a brand of it or a video of it.
