Imma be honest. I love outdoor chef life videos about his adventures and cooking his catches. I know he isn't intended this, but honest opinion and criticism here... I understand the branding and respect the grind, but the constant insert product hype of chili crisp (great product) can feel inauthentic. Especially when it kind of feels like he doesn't want to do it, but has to as a marketing requirement. I don't think its intentional, and I believe it's because he is so laid back and chill. He doesn't carry the "CHECK THIS OUT GUYS, it's AMAZING and you should get it if you want to support me" hyper energy vibe of other youtubers. i think new viewers might feel like this is just a long ad. Older viewers will feel a bit jarred liked me. His old catch and cook was him just having fun showing us what he can do. He still does, but bringing up chili crisp in almost every dish feels...well... inauthentic. I could be very wrong about this criticism, but it's just an honest opinion I am sharing. edit: Not saying he shouldn't advertise his product, its a quality product. Just saying how it can come across in the videos when it's consistently brought up.

For the mosquito's, I find having an actual Citronella plant in your van, like a houseplant, and taking it outside with you when you go out it works better than any candle or other scented thing. The plants are pretty and smell pretty good too :)

Thank you for describing the gear you are using - it's very helpful. I know nothing about fishing - love watching, but I'm still deciding whether I have bandwidth in my life for fishing. Anyhow knowing what folks that I watch use gives me good data points. One day maybe you can talking about what you started using or what low end gear you like.

So, I heard if you have a small fan blowing wind towards you, mosquitos won't bite as much because they can't control their flying to land on you. Mosquitos are weak flyers and usually get blown around with the wind so if you have a small fan blowing in the area you're sitting, they are supposed to get blown passed you. At least that's what I heard. Since you're always in the wilderness, you could prove or disprove the theory. 🤷‍♂️ Love your vids and content. Keep up the great work.

There are some new mosquito zapper that uses a light and vibration that attracts them, it covers an area around 30 by 30 feet and it’s silent. I’ve never tried one but if think you’re the perfect person to test that puppy out tacu! Thanks for a great one

Get that 3m ultrathon mosquito lotion. I am a magnet for mosquito bites but that lotion keeps me bite free in the most tropical areas. It’s clutch and doesn’t smell.

Man I love blue rockfish, prefer it over verms, unless its a small verm. I prefer smaller rockfish perfect for whole pan frying.

Costa really nailed it with their Pro Series frames👍The ability to pinch the nose pads together and raise the frame off the face to increase ventilation and eliminate cheek crash is a game changer!

ive got two holes on my oru beach LT on the creases from white bass fishing streams that are ful of dead clam and mussel shells lol bottom is tore the hell up. each trip i have to spend 15 bucks to buy that Flex tape that works well on it, but only for 1 or two trips before u have to re apply but it holds pretty well just peels off when you fold it back up since its on the crease.
