I love this tutorial. and the finish journal is so pretty. tip: if you lay you booklet open on a piece of cardboard or mouse pad etc. and open your stapler you can put your staples wherever you want them, then turn it over and close the prongs with a pencil eraser. that's how I do it.

You are marvelous to have said around 10:40 that imperfections that only the artist or creator of the piece sees anyway give art it's character. B 4 u said that I was in awe of your creating a unique piece. Then u talked about that uneven or wobbly cutting system. I think plastic machining is responsible, and metal would not wobble. But would be very expensive unless it was a rare pawn shop or garage sale find. Thx for the ideas. I work in abstract acrylics so precision paper projects are a new world. Thx 4 the guides. Love your flap book idea.

I'm loving this video so far. I just want to make a quick suggestion about stapling the pages together if you don't have a deep enough stapler. Thank you for sharing, it looked grand. I do have a tip for your stapler to act as a long arm stapler. You need a spong or somthing soft like you would use when using an embossing tool on a flower. Open you stapler all the way so its long, (you are only going to use the end you push) when its long, lay your pappers on the soft sponge put you stapler where you wants it and push down like you nomal would if it was closed. when you take the stapler away you carefully lift up your papers and turn them over, you will see the staple prongs sticking up, you just get your bone folder and push them down each side and you item is stapleded without having to bend any papers. Hope that makes sense.

Beautiful flip book! I use a brayer to smooth glued pieces to save my wrists from carpel tunnel pain. Glued don't stick permanently to it's rubber or silicone surface. To handle fraying on the string closure -- I dip ends in clear caulking compound or some waterproof, durable acrylic compound. To dry I set it on a silicone mat or plastic sandwich bag which easily detached after it's dried.

I just tumbled onto your video and really enjoyed it! It's the first one that I could follow along and actually didn't have to buy anything first. I am in the process of making one and wanted to thank you for making it. I ttried to find you on facebook but couldn't. I hope you are still around.

Hello, I have watched your video about 10 times now, literally. I've watched it about 5 times rewinding and forward winding. The first one that I made I couldn't get the lace part even. I have the same punch and still can't figure out how to get it even. I ended up trashing that one. I'm now on my 5th one that are going to be gifts. My grandsons, I have 4 all want one. So I've had to make them very boyish. Thank so much for this video. I learn something new every time I watch it. Thanks again and I look forward to more videos from you! :-)

Did you learn how to get your lace punch lined up? If not, on the base of the punch it has the same punch pattern on the platform so you can line it up. I start the punch in the middle somewhere and then move that punched out section to where it lines up over top of the punch pattern on the platform. Make sure you are right on top of the pattern on the bottom and you shouldn't have any problem. Always push your paper up to the top edge inside the punch itself also. Hope that helps you some.
