This was taken in Yorkshire so don’t worry our accents are hard to understand at first cuz they’re nothing like RP English also the people were speaking in peculiar dialect so yeah don’t worry it just takes getting used to. Like at one part the girl said ‘deffo’ like just a lazy way of saying definitely. I’m actually glad this channel is portraying realistic English accents and dialects to prepare people who want to come to England. I feel like even the interviewer was trying to speak more clearly coz even I soften my accent when speaking to foreigners. My Algerian friend found it hard to understand at me at first but now she is so used to my accent heck she is even starting to speak like a Brit 😂
It's really hard to understand without subtitles

As a native British English speaker, I can confirm there is nothing out of the ordinary about they way they're speaking. They have a Yorkshire accent but regional accents are basically the norm in the UK. People are struggling because they have been taught international and American English, which is really quite different from British English. In the UK we speak with quite a closed mouth and a low voice, and the language is replete with phrasal verbs and idioms. This makes it difficult but English teachers should be preparing students for this and familiarising learners with hoe actual Brits speak from the very beginning of their language learning. Hate to break it to you but if you want to be able to converse with Brits this is the kind of English you need be familiarising yourself with!
Thank you so much! Making the lives of teachers so easy! Keep it up!

This shows how many different variations in accents we Northerners have. Yorkshire is the largest county in England and the difference between Leeds Bradford York Sheffield Scarborough and coastal towns in accent is so different. No wonder foreign visitors can not easily understand the lingo when we have so many dialects and accents lol. Love it.

Any one else who is an English Speaker using Easy Languages for Polish or some other language, and insanely relieved to see the familiar comments of 'OMG, Easy English/Polish/Spanish/Whatever, it is so hard, they speak so fast!!' ... it makes me realize that learning any language will always be difficult and that gives me hope for my Polish learning :)
THA WAS INFORMATIVE, THANKS

Not at all. I'm a Londoner and for me they just had northern accents, which surprisingly weren't that strong for me. The hardest English accents for me are the Irish and Scottish. American is easy cos of US TV.

Yes, that I understand. The English people and the American people speak one language, but with different dialects. One language has a standard form with some or many dialects. If one language is spoken in more than one country, two or more standard forms may appear. I experience the same thing: I am a native speaker of Standard Indonesian and the dialect of Jakarta. However, I find it difficult to understand the spoken Malaysian language. If the Malaysian people write their words on a piece of paper, I understand them easily. Indonesian and Malaysian are written with the same spelling, but they are spoken with different accents.
i've never thought that there was such this, is the reality. makes me feel more closely to understand, thank you;!!
Everyone is doing well things!

I stumbled upon these videos when I was looking at the Portuguese language. I think that these videos are great!! You really learn the different languages, cultures and accents around the world. However, is it possible that you guys will make a video in America. Considering I'm American, I would really love to see what Americans would say in comparison.

Guys. If you're seeing that comment. Yes, i know it's hard. But this is the real English that you gonna listen on the streets if you go for a english-speaker country. So... Don't worry about the difficulty. Study the vocabulary and listen this a lot of times and repeat and repeat and repeat. Until you can understand perfectly or almost perfectly. Allright? 🤓
