Easy DIY STOCK TANK POOL
We've seen a lot of really great stock tank pools out there and trust us when we say ours isn't the fanciest stock tank pool but it's definitely one of the easiest and most cost effective. We also had a ton of fun with the project! Adding a stock tank pool to our RV oasis has made these South Carolina summers a lot more bearable. Join us as we show you how we made our stock tank pool, the necessary steps you will need to make yours, and how you can make it simple yet extremely functional. 4 years later and we are proud to say that the stock tank is still holding up, would highly recommend!

Add a solar pool heater. Two, learn about baking soda for pool use. Three, maybe look into a cordless stick vac to keep the bottom tidy. Great job!

Great video as usual ! What are you going to do with the water when winter comes ? Just keep it in the tank if no free zinc temperature ? I’m considering this for our small moutain house in Corsica but we don’t live there all year, and I don’t want to just spill all the chemicals on the ground with the water… (which also is forbidden )
@ALittleBitUnhitched

Great question! We haven’t done this yet, but our current plan is to stop adding chlorine a month before we would ever need to drain it but keep the pump functioning as normal for that duration. We do our best to not go overkill on chemicals the way it is. Best of luck with the project Lau!

Does the water get super hot in the summer time? Small amount of water in a metal tub seems like it would turn into a hotub basically. Curious about cooling it off.

Great question William. Our water stays cool through the summer in South Carolina! Haven’t had any issues at all with the water getting too hot. 👍🏻
Now just train Fenton to fetch beers from the trailer...although you will have to teach him how to work the AS door latch. Hummm...maybe just rock, paper, scissors for the next beer run!

If a beer looked and smelled like an old tennis ball, Fenton would be the best beer fetcher of all time. Fortunately AND unfortunately for us it doesn’t… so we settled for placing a cooler within arms reach so we can stay hydrated with minimal effort. 😂

Originally we just had an extension cord that we would connect every time we ran the pump. This season we are tapping into a nearby outlet and running an underground wire. Have fun with the project!
You guys must of taken classes at one time on making content and editing. Fun, good entertainment, humorous and informative. By the way from my experience with boats if you attach anything to the pool be careful of the disimular metal thing if you use screws or bolts. Stainless will react with steel causing a corrosion point.

Hey Andrew, we are on county land where there are no specific restrictions against it, so we’ve been able to hide in broad daylight. Many city regulations do prohibit it so we focused our search outside city borders. Always take into account the cost to install utilities if you are considering vacant land. Other than that… maybe plant some fast growing trees? Good luck! 😎

Really like the simplistic pool, I wanted to add some insight. Your pool is very small you might only need to run your pump for five to six hours. Three things that you need to worry about your water is alkalinity, PH and Chlorine. You keep those within the recommendation you’ll be good. Also get a small nylon brush that keeps the algae from forming. Also saw this skimmer which is awesome to pick up any debris kzread.infoQhaVMJ66KME?feature=share Take care and good luck with your projects.

The pool is the reference point. That which comes into the pool comes through the “inlet”. That which leaves the pool is going out, ergo it must leave through the “outlet”. OK, who won that one?

So you have to add muriatic acid to reduce the ph. But, you also have to add baking soda (sodium bicarbonate, or whatever) to raise the alkalinity. This has the side effect of raising the ph, so you have to add more acid. I don’t get it. Maybe that’s just my pool. Lol. Have fun!
