EASY DIY floating turtle trap - How to catch pond turtles like a BOSS

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Make this trap with just PVC, zip ties, some form of net/screen, and boat bumpers. seriously, most people have most of this stuff laying around the house already. There is nothing more annoying than going to your pond and seeing tons of little turtle heads popping up. or worse yet, getting one on the hook trying to steal your bait. the best way to keep them at bay is to trap them consistently. this thing works.

I’ll be building this soon. We are covered up in turtles! Can you give a general cost to build this and I’m curious what the ramp is made of? Can I find that at the hardware store?

I think it was around 100 dollars but you could build several for just a little more. The mesh will come in a big roll that enough to do several, plenty of glue as well for multiple traps. It would be super cheap if you could just buy enough stuff to do one. I bought the ramp from my local scrap yard, you can find anything at the hardware store that will bend and has texture though. Maybe a piece of expanded metal or even wood that was screwed to some brackets that were bent to the right angle.

Jack Question Instead of the wire mesh on the bottom of the cage. Could you have used the garden mesh also?

You certainly could but it may not it’s shape AS good. I used the wire to give it a little more rigidity to hold square.

Tie wraps break due to sun UV. NO. You don't show it in the water working! Nice theory idea but unproven here in the video.
