This was a fun watch, especially the music. Great job on the boards, love the colors and for me i try to have boards that do have both sides able to be used. Unless the client wants feet, and then well i do what the client wants 😂. Great job 🎉

Yes for an 'organic look' we cut a artificial channel and then we fill it wit organic plastic. I get it. Really cool that you apply food-safe oil on a cutting board. Especially when the epoxy is not food safe.

Lovely looking boards mate. That spalted wood would look great if you made a pattern with a plainer grained dark wood too if you have any usable offcuts. Maybe have a chess board type pattern using the spalted wood, a darker grained wood and epoxy of different colours inlayed to make the dividing lines. Keep up the fantastic content my man!!!

Do you just do that tiny bit resin to save on cost? Joining to pieces with a full river pour is way more satisfying. Love the spalted board looks great 👌🏽

Wo bekommst du denn dekn Holz immer her? Wählst du extra Bohlen mit stehenden Jahresringen, damit es nicht krumm wird mit der Zeit oder achtest du hier eher weniger darauf?? Liebe Grüße

My dear wood wizard, I love the boards especially the last one but what a shame the oil made it a darker brown.I loved the black and white of the pre -oiled one but thinking a gold glitter would have been nice on the oiled one.still,you can do no wrong in my eyes.x

Thank you!! I'll stick with your last sentence. 😁 The truth is, I also liked the color without oil more, but for a cutting board, it's necessary.
They both turned out amazing! How much should one charge for a cutting board that size? Thank you for sharing one love!

Marmota, boa tarde! Posso te marcar no insta? Desde já, muito obrigado! 😉

Mineral oil doesn't harden. There are food-safe oils that do harden, and will provide a little more protection. Walnut oil is one example; "natural" linseed oil without added hardeners is another.
@marmotaworks

That's why I use wax afterward. The issue with oils like walnut oil is that they become rancid over time and have a noticeable odor.
@KarlBunker
6 ай бұрын
@@marmotaworks With regard to a hardening oil, the word "rancid" is a chemical term that only means it has oxidized and cured, which is what you want it to do. It doesn't mean that it's "gone bad." I've been using walnut oil on my everyday cutting board for years, and all it smells like is walnut oil, which is pleasant, and onions, which is what I've cut on it most recently. But maybe your sense of smell is different.
@marmotaworks
6 ай бұрын
@@KarlBunker I have used those oils, and I'm not against them; I just don't like them because they have a smell. I prefer mineral oil, which is completely neutral.

@iheartmops

@@marmotaworks Your thumbnail has "$3000" with an arrow pointing at a single cutting board. You have to admit that makes it look like one cutting board sold for $3000. Your description says "Manufacturing process of two easy cutting boards with which I have earned over $3000 with very little effort." Even $1500 for one of these seems crazy to me. Do you mean that you've made many more of these two *types* of cutting board, and their sales have totaled $3000? I'm not trying to be pedantic, I just want to understand what your claim is.
