So.... I think you, Bob and Jimmy should make a skeeball machine. Just a thought. Jimmy could make the balls, Bob the electronic mechanisms and you can build the frame and structure. Or.. you could just do all of it but damn it, someone needs to make a skeeball machine!

I love this idea! I would love to see the Making It boyz collaborate on something ridiculous. Well, other than the podcast.

I don't usually even comment on these things, never get any type of reply because they're so busy. But man it would be a great build. I thought of Bob's Plinko build a while back and a skee ball would be epic.
"We're gonna throw all of that out the window"...along with Cameraman Dan's Soul! LOL
I like the part when Diresta shows up at 9:30.
Breaking down barriers, making cool stuff, and having fun. That's why I'm here too. Too many gems in this one to call them all out. Let's just say I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. And though you were disparaging of the great Bon Jovi, you did play a clip there, so respect for that. I'm totally feeling it. The guitar clip during the laser cutting, Grandma would be so proud. Thanks for sharing!
"Lie, Cheat and Steal, like Grandma used to say" - love it welcome to 2020 🤣😆
The bevel cut into the spline is mint.

That's what I was thinking.
Now that those kits come in stereo, that has been on my list to do. Definitely reminds me of an amp head. Looks good! I have now heard Jimmy's baby voice, now yours. We needs Bob's for the trifecta!!
"If you wondering it's bothering me that the logo on the front is not perfectly center? More. Than. You. Will ever. Know or. Understand."
Wife and kids were staring at me for a solid minute. “Jerry knows”. Sup Dave.
Its so easy to get lost in projects and find that something that started as a fun thing has turned into a chore because you’re trying to become a “specialist” in something rather than just make the damn thing and have fun. Then see if that finished project maybe inspires you to delve deeper, if not, who cares you got a new thing and had fun. Win Win in my book! Truly loving your channel and videos. Thanks again from the UK and stay safe and of course, “Keep making things!” :oD
"We're going to ignore all of that." Perfect. :D
"Can we just have fun?" One of your lines that made us fall in love with your channel in the first place. Great build and video, David.
I love the point in the beginning about just diving in and enjoying the craft, without setting barriers that have to be overcome before the enjoyment, or the learning, can be allowed to take place. I remember as a very young child, just learning to speak, and how I felt when I'd gotten all my vocabulary and grammar down, and that one special day when I'd learned enough verb conjugation to begin actually making sounds with my mou.... Hold it, none of that happened! I just spoke, and _then_ learned all those other things years later! Just like your point about making stuff!
I kinda like the logo being off to the left, it adds a sense of motion or moving forward across the front of the speaker as if your logo was a car doing a wheelie and zooming with the music
I had fun watching you have fun! 👍🏼

I gotta say, at first i kinda skipped past this video...no particular reason, but then after hearing you talk about it on the podcast i came back and searched for it, watched it, and enjoyed it, haha! Nice work! I've been wanting to build one of those too. Maybe i'll have time this year (famous last words, lol) 👊🏻
the way that chamfer on the front ends at the splines is so satisfying, gives the vibes of those metal corner bits on guitar amps and its way cool
Agreed. It turned around in the end. Looks great!
I didnt even notice the logo wasn't centered. I think it all looks dope! Reminds me of a guitar head. I'm really loving it. 👍
Thank you for say that about the science behind making a bluetooth speaker. I have been killing myself trying to learn everything under the sun about speaker combinations.
I love this! And using a cheap belt as a handle… brilliant!
Love the gold against walnut🔥
Dude. Awesome video! The laid back nature of the project paired with the crazy cool camera shots made it really enjoyable. Nicely done sir.
This may be one of my favorite videos and projects yet! I love the idea of just getting in there and designing on the fly and I love the final aesthetics of the speaker!
I made some passive speakers in the past. A good source I found for the wood, at a reasonable cost is fret board wood, or wood sold for the side of a acoustic guitar. The wood can be bought in nice spices and grain patterns from a luthier supply place.
*The skill that some people have just absolutely amazes me*
Seems like Dave is wound up a little tight when he’s having fun.
Funny how you said "throwing science out the door" while wearing a science shirt!! 🤣🤣 Great project once again, looks awesome!!!
That logo and that finish makes it look amazing man. I am impressed. Very boujee !
Beautiful!
Those splines make it look like it has old school case corners. 👌🏼
It's all fun until it's not centred... Love the project and the backing track. The chamfer exposing the splines looks great as well.
love the mini half/stack head look!
Loved this episode! Really looked like you were having fun which can be contagious
Dave I’d watch you design and build pretty much whatever, have for years. You never have to apologize for just shooting from the hip. Everything is an experiment and ... can we just have some fun?!
Thanks for the talk in the beginning, I don't know how many times I've let that limit me on the projects I take on. Only get better by doing it and stepping out of comfort zone. Thanks Dave!
this is a great project and video. it's perfectly ok to just dive in. your first project doesn't need custom crossovers, correct volume, ports. sometimes it just needs to be ok.
7:25 Make Something Laser Time song > William Osman Laser Time song 😆 Nice project. Thanks for letting us have fun through you.
Absolutely gorgeous build! Loving it.
That's super cool and retro looking
Great example of how a simple chamfer can improve the look of something. I think that little detail gives this an awesome lookt!! Nice job David!
This is beautiful. The routed front frame helped out a ton as did the sanding refinish job. Great job sir.
One of the best, yet! LOVE the chamfered front and leather handle!
Love the look! Retro! Reminds me of some older vintage speakers. Love the beveled edge with the splines! Well done! Love the belt/handle as well. Great work! 😀😇😎
That grill logo is top notch!
Dude, your attitude matched exactly what you were saying. Message received loud and clear! Listen to your Grandma. LOL!
Everyone: "Laser cutters are so expensive" David: (kicks it open while playing guitar) lol

Nice. Looks super retro , might give one a whirl. Thanks mate 🇦🇺
The colors, veneer pattern, and logo remind me of skateboard designs in the 90’s.. not sure why, but I dig it!
Love the choice of the gold, Dave. Gives it a Mid-Century modern vibe.
Throwback...Dave just wants to have fun!!!
You know I didn't even notice the off center logo, but since you pointed it out... This is a great video to show how we design and experiment and change.
Had fun watching you have fun with the project! ...also liked the potshots at the haters.
Wow the final iteration is very Fender ampish looking. Very cool. Your analality is humorous yet once you shift past your recovery results are spectacular. Trust your instincts always.
Enjoyed the flow and philosophy!
What a lovely video and a great looking retro speaker! I love it!
The motto👌🏻
The guitar playing in this is amazing. Another fun project. Thanks for your work David.
Love the style and attitude in this one!
Dave i’ve been watching you for a few years now and I think this is my favorite thing you’ve made so far! As an 18 year old maker you are so inspiring to watch! Always look forward to your videos :)

David as always a great “free the mind” video. Thanks!
Great gift idea!!!! Awesome project.........love the Troll voice 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
So nice! Love the end result
Man, really nice job! The intro, the transitions, the just enough "big picture talk" to get people to chill and enjoy. This was great and the final product looks sweet even though that wasn't the main point. Good good stuff.
Good work !!!
Bro, I barely started this video and I already gotta comment. Your statement at the beginning about creating barriers with your work couldn’t have been said any better. I notice that I do that more and more with my woodworking. But recently I started getting into luthier work, and I am totally relishing being a beginner. I just built my first guitar and just jumped right in, doing things I know probably aren’t “right”. And you know what? It’s a pretty badass guitar. Now I did have to relocate the bridge since its intonation was a bit off, but I think that’ll work. Story about myself, but just saying, I totally agree with you. And that is a badass speaker.

Make Something that would be awesome as hell! With the way you design things, it would definitely kick ass
Super rad!
i love the ethos of this video! and the speaker came out great!
Cool build! Would love to see some of Dan's speaker builds as I build speakers too.
I enjoyed this video a LOT.. well done David.
This video was so good for so many reasons. Tinkering should always be encouraged, and I loved the result.
favorite quote "just like were at Jo ann fabric!" LOL
Love it DAVE!!
Can we have a follow up vid where you plan a speaker with Dan + build?
I really dig the splines in the chamfer!
You and Wody Design dropped Rockler speaker projects on the same day. I dig it. It reminds me of an old console TV/A.M. radio/record player I inherited from my grandparents.
*Nice! Very nice video! Thanks for the show!!!*
Love the look
Love it! Also...totally done the Goodwill belt thing for some of my own projects in the past ha ha
Dude, this is personally one of my favorite things you have ever made.
Why did you say it was off center?!? I never would of noticed! It’s now all I notice! Love the speaker!
Honestly, this is the most beautiful diy bluetooth speaker I've ever seen. Great job!
Love you kart logo on the shirt!
👍 I loved how it turned out. I have enjoyed listening to the podcast before watching the video to get a better understanding of your thought process.
Good choices were made. Love the finished product!
Mr Pachooto, you know that plexi spacer is just asking for some RGBs to shine through lol
Yet another great vid :) I had to go back and watch an old video to get my fix of abrading in your abode.
This is beautiful! Love the design, the fun, and the music. Great work
I was just think about making one of these, stop reading my mind 😂🤣, was looking at old large console radios and turn into a Bluetooth jukebox.
This slipped by in my feed somehow, but I went back to it now after listening to Making it. Pure joy to watch, and I feel inspired to.... wait for it... make something!!
Dude that’s beautiful. I love the chamfer on the line with the splines. Great color, fun project
Look so cool!
Woah... that intro with the spinning speaker was awesome.
that intro with the spinning zoom just melted me 😍🤩
Look. It looks great.
I 100% agree with everything you said, sometimes ignorance is bliss because if you don't know the rules you aren't restricted. Also don't become to invested in what other people are doing or feel the need to compare. I say all of this while watching your video for inspiration 😂😂.
Good work job
