This is the Nigella I remember from about 15 years ago. I had just retired in 2006 and I'd been divorced for several years and ate mostly pizza and other fast foods. So my sister saw my weight starting to increase and introduced me to the Food Network and several great cooking shows. At first, I wasn't sold on cooking for myself but I enjoyed the entertaining shows with their colorful hosts. Bobby Flay, Alton Brown's Good Eats, Giada De Laurentiis, Iron Chef America, and even Guy Fieri were helpful in showing me how to cook simple foods, and soon I was doing all kinds of fancy dishes. Then I saw the beautiful and articulate Nigella Lawson and I literally fell in love with her and cooking. I think she helped me the most. It's great to see her legacy being preserved on YT!

Thank you for sharing! I'm happy things changed for you. I sorely miss the "Golden Age" of Food Network. Now it's just competition show after competition show.
The way she talks about every single ingredient makes me want to eat and cook and eat and cook.... and eat. Nigella has always been addictive.

Did you say addictive or addict? She's a HUGE cocaine addict 😅😅
Only Nigella could get away with cooking lamb shanks and homemade creme brulee and make it look like an "effortless, stress-free" dinner.
She has the most wonderful descriptions and she's beautiful
Even though sometimes I do think her cooking seem under seasoned, I always feel smarter after watching her videos lol. It's her rich vocabulary and her way with words...

" I don't mind to be pretentiously eclectic!" Oh I love this phrase! So cute!!
She is naturally beautiful inside and out. I love watching her cook.
Watching her is therapeutic
The production for these videos is awesome. I also love Nigella's vibe. What a cool lady 😎

She tends to throw at least one obscure brit-phrase in per show. Timorous bent lol! And brits are like "my nan says that!"
this was the most elegant and relaxed cooking series of all time. I watched it on 'cable' back then, and recently have been reviewing it, just to confirm it is so.
I have never had crème brûlée work for me until this recipe came along. It’s my favourite dessert and now I can finally make it. Delicious!

I find her incredibly soothing at the end of this extremely stressful week!
I love how chaotic and filled up her fridge is. hehe like normal people.
Just love her technique and gorgeous descriptions. She’s brilliant!!!
Watching Nigella is my cure to distress.
I’m guessing this was probably before we started to use the word “umami”.
Oh, how I need Nigella this week...
My only gripe is she never scrapes her bowls and the frugal adult in me stays screaming.

Lovely adjectives everywhere! My parents loved watching her...
She is drop dead gorgeous and can cook go Nigella!
11:25 I like to imagine that her friends were asked to ask her where couscous hails from and are teasing her off-camera for her answer, hence the fit of giggles 😅
I like the idea of one larger crème brûlée for dessert instead of the individual ones! 😊 great idea!

Whatever I'm eating I watch her episodes it makes feel like I'm eating what she's cooking lol
Food looks great! I swear Nigella doesn’t age lol
Anchovies are absolutely delicious and so good for health!❤️
I've always loved her, and she is high on the list of women I'd switch teams for...lol.....but during the thick of Covid, starting March 2020, started re-watching her...fell more in love with her, and would just love to make dinner with her and chat and laugh...
I watch her shows to buy all the tools she uses. I love her cooking utensils :)

I've always loved her beauty. 💖 For a moment there I thought this was a new video. But I guess not. No one can look like like she has never aged. She's just so mesmerizing. 😊
I've always been under the impression that creme brulee is very difficult to make, well Nigella makes it look so easy to make. Lamb shanks are so tasty, but the lentils added to them makes it look even tastier. Thanks for sharing 👍
she is mesmerizing
She should get a Grammy award!
Yes my favorite chef ❤❤
Looks so delicious and super easy .. nothing complex .. 😘😍
Nigella always cooks like she’s in a hurry to eat-very relatable queen.

20 years ago lamb shanks were a cheap cut - not any more.
@johnr797

Every off cut seems to be expensive now because food shows make them trendy. Oxtail, even beef tongue can be pricey now.
Imagine being this iconic.
Does anyone know which book of Nigella's these recipes are from ?
Yum! I love lamb!
And voile we have a tangle of taste,,,,I think she could make a "mud pie" taste interesting.
I like better braised than boiled.
Well done. No histrionics, no brashness or coarseness, and a terrific no-nonsense approach. Why not more such videos?
She reminds me of Sofia Lauren but more gorgeous, if possible.

One small faux pas is that you shouldn’t put nuts in EVERY dish for dinner guests. Also, where’s the veg?
8:17 -- Dalcha mutton !!!!
Did anyone see her put salt into the dish? Or is all the savoriness to come from the soy sauce? Just asking...
@johnr797

She undersalts a lot. I was just watching her make a huge salad and the only salt in it was from poaching liquid she had the salmon in. Love the recipes but even salad needs salt. You could even say salads *especially* need salt.
No salt? A lit garlic and other spices would prob bring up the flavor base on the ingredients doesn't seem like much depth of flavor
this is a real women wow.
Breast milk does not contain vanilla.
