I am a guy. My mother passed away a month ago. She was a great knitter. Weeks before she fell ill to the hospital I expressed to her my interest in learning how to crochet. She taught me eagerly and happily. I kept practising but when she fell ill I stopped. Now I am resuming and I want to honour my mother by learning more until I become as skilled as my mother. Thanks for the tutorial.

My condolences to you and your family for the loss of your mother. That’s a tough one. 😢🙏 Stay with Crystal and you will learn to make anything you ever thought you couldn’t make. She is by far the best crochet teacher I have ever watched. And as a bonus, she’s the sweetest and most humble person. Wishing you much success and pleasure on your crochet journey.

I'm so sorry that you lost your mom first of all. That is a pain like no other. I think she would be very proud of you right now because what you were doing is a tribute to her and you couldn't have come to a better group of people and a better teacher, I have been with this group for years and if you want to learn to crochet this is the place to begin. God bless you.

Thank you for explaining and showing a lot of the stitches on the row. Some people just do 2 or 3 and stop. I have memory problems and I can't do complicated stitches because I lose count. My work ends up with holes in it so I don't try complicated fan patterns etc. I wish I could I love them. I like how you go through the stitches slowly and show where the hook has to go so thank you, you are helping me and I appreciate it. 😊

Hey you, and my favorite one to turn to when I want a simple stitch. Making throws for family. This stitch is my favorite. The thicket stitch. No matter what yarn used, it turns out awesome. My trows that I make will be given to my very special peeps. Family, friends and anyone that has thrown a kindly "HELLO" Some one that knows me as I walk into a business. whether it be a gas station, or maybe even a comment in Walmart. Or the waitress that give us a beer after a long days work. You all are appreciated, so very much. This is why I crochet.........to give back. when you give an almost stranger a hand made throw. It will mean the world to them. And they will never forget the moment.

Well I watched the tutorial tonight and I'm making my five month old grand son a baby blanket. Nothing fancy and something easy. I live in north Alabama and it gets cold in the winter time. My daughter has lot of beautiful keepsake blankets. The kind that you want to keep spotless forever. That's not what I make. I call it a car blanket. Getting the kids in and out of the cars can be cold. So what i make needs to probably just stay in the car and that way they can just snuggle up while riding to and from day care the grocery store...you get the picture. So im giving this stitch a try instead of making a big granny square. Plus I use very colorful yarn to help learn their colors.

I am actually making a lap blanket for myself, (if nobody takes it from me. LOL). I am making it using this stitch, and I love it. I tried 2 other stitches for this blanket, and I didnt like them. I had done something similiar, before, so I decided to just try this without knowing what I was doing. Funny thing.. i even did the single across the first row like you did. Now I know what it is called. I was calling it the" Patti was frustrated and just made up her own stitch" stitch. The real name is much easier to remember. I love the yarn you used for this. I am making a gradient starting with an unusual whitish yarn, and then shades of glacier greens to dark greens. Idk how it will look, so I may end up using the yarn you did. Thanks for the tutorial, Crystal!

I'm so happy I found you 💛. I have 4 baby blankets to make. I don't like plain Jane blankets and I have been searching for patterns. Thank you 😊

Thanks for the tutorial for this stitch. It’s pretty and it’s simple. I am hoping to substitute it in a pattern for a baby hooded sweater. Now all I need to do is to make sure I can match the gauge!

I swear by your site! I've crocheted for over 50 years. Did all the basic stitches but never worked to learn new stitches. Well, thanks to your VERY easy tutorials I am branching out doing a "Stitch A Day". Starting with the easier stitches then will expand to the more difficult. You are the best! Hope you don't mind me sharing your links on my FB page. I'm starting a project today that I'm using this stitch for. :)

Found out I am going to be a grandma and I wanted to crochet a blanket for my new grand-baby. Had no idea where to start. Jess from Roots to Refuge recommended your channel and I am beyond thankful. This stitch looks simple enough for me to make a great gift with. Thank you.
