Easy Crochet Ghost Tutorial | Free Amigurumi Ghost Halloween Pattern

Create your own little ghost with me in this full step-by-step tutorial! This ghost is super easy to make with very minimal sewing and comes together in UNDER 2 HOURS!! Use glow-in-the-dark yarn to make him GLOW - see yarn details below and skip to 23:39 if you want to see how well the yarn glows!

Materials You Will Need:
• Crochet hook size: 3.5mm
• Medium/worsted/aran weight yarn*: white - 42 yards needed
• Yarn needle
• One pair of 12 mm safety eyes
• Polyester fiber fill stuffing
• One strand of black embroidery floss
*Use DIY Glow yarn from Lion Brand Yarn or another glow-in-the-dark yarn to make your ghost glow!!
The stitches you will need to know before making this ghost are: chain, single crochet, and the slip stitch. You will also use the decrease stitch, which is explained in the video.

@@theresascrochetshop sewing on the arms has been a bit challenging but I’m gonna try using stitch markers at the top and bottom of the arm to hold it in place while I sew around!!

I used regular yarn and i got a ghost thats 6 inches tall and it's cute too!
Theresa I think your amigurumi’s are absolutely beautiful and I love this ghost. How do I make it in a smaller size so I can balance it out with a tiny pumpkin for a purse dangle?? ❤

Aww thank you so much! That's a great question. There's not a super simple answer. Increase to the size you like (maybe 18 or 24 sts for a purse dangle) and then work as many rounds of that number as you like. Make the bottom circle to match that number you choose, and leave a couple rounds off the arms so they match the size of the ghost. :) Hope that helps!

How would you clean or store the ghost? Can you wash it like normal with minimal worries?

Yes, you can spot clean the ghost and store it like any other stuffed animal. I usually use acrylic yarn for my crocheted animals, and those are machine washable. I'm not sure how the glow-in-the-dark yarn would glow after being washed as I haven't washed them before.

Hi, crochet noob here. When doing the bottom of the ghost, do you slip stitch in between rounds?

Hi!! Congrats on learning to crochet!! No, the ghost is crocheted in rounds, so you will not join each round with a slip stitch. Let me know if you have other questions! Happy crocheting! :)

i keep trying this but my work keeps turning out bigger. when i went to put the eyes in it was at the bottom of my work. does it have to do with my tension?

What color is that yarn? I know it’s white but is the color called Natural? that’s the color i’m seeing when i search the yarn online in that brand

Hmm! Size can be affected by the yarn weight, the hook size, or how tightly you crochet...
