Oh Mel this meant so much today to me. Today is my momma’s first birthday in heaven and I miss her so much.she passed on and met Jesus & my beloved dad at heavens gate ( will be a year January 1st) She was 90,years old and had me so young. What a super reminder as a person of faith that we will all be together again when called home. Praise God and thank you ! ❤🙏😘

Awe, I know ur pain Beth, there's just nothing like our Mom's! I'll be praying u get thru ur Holiday without too many tears. U know what I think u can do is ask Jesus to call ur sweet Mom to his throne and have him deliver a message to her! If the Centurion could ask Jesus to just give the word & his servant was healed long distance, I feel strong that he will "get ur Mom up to speed" and tell her something special. Our Mom's were just promoted to a new location but his sweet Holy Spirit remains the same, strong & thriving in our hearts! Jesus will likely chuckle, he knows I bombard him like the widow & the judge story he told us about + likely he'll say "that Sandy can talk an arm off a one armed paper hangar!" 🤭🤣 Sending u big hugs & love from snowy West Michigan! 🙋‍♀️🏠🎍☃️🎁🎄💕💕💕

Hello @bethdeck9825. This is the first Christmas without my mom .She went to heaven May 22 this year. Her Birthday as well as mine was so hard .Then Thanksgiving now Christmas in a few wks. Mel, I'm a new subscriber and I want to thank you for the delicious recipes. Your video touched my heart. My dad passed away on December 20, 2012 and my dear mom passed away on Christmas Day the following year. You mentioned that it doesn't matter if you have a small kitchen or house, it's the blessing of having family together. I totally agree. There were 9 children in our family but we still managed to squeeze around the table in my mom and dad's tiny kitchen. Those were happy times. Years later when we had spouses and children, we set up card tables and chairs in addition to the dining room table. We were packed in like sardines but I wouldn't trade those times for anything. There was always prayer and laughter.

Merry Christmas! I love that you share His love for us and that Jesus is the most important gift of all.

Mama Mel, when your voice cracked, I lost it. You just don't know how much I miss family traditions. All those who taught me are in heaven now.

I got my love of baking from her. We always spent Christmas Eve with her and since her passing I now host Christmas Eve for my family. I usually spend December making all sorts of treats but I've had 3 strokes in the past 2 months and knew I could not stand up and do all of the baking and candy and pie cooking I usually do. I was getting really sad because I've been doing this for 60 something years now. These look so simple and I can do them sitting down in a chair by a table. Now we will have wonderful treats but my health will not suffer. Thank you so much again. Have a wonderful Christmas!

My momma does the chocolate dip goodies every year. She always has to make me a special batch of white chocolate-covered oreos. They are my favorite at Christmas time.

You are so right! No one is going to remember the size of your kitchen or the kind of chair they sat in, they are going to remember the fun and laughter they had when they visited your house!

It's no wonder everyone loves you Momma Mel! You have fun in the kitchen and show us all that perfection is not the goal, but that enjoying yourself and blessing family and friends with tasty and pretty treats is the most important aspect. That, along with your love for Christ shows with everything you do and we love you for it. ❤❤❤❤❤ Quick tip for those who, like me, do not use shortening- coconut oil works the same way and is better for you. (it doesn't taste like coconut at all if you make sure to use the "refined" variety) I make the toffee like treat and we've always jokingly called it "crack" because it's so addictive! 😂 I use all graham crackers but no chocolate, then sprinkle on chopped pecans. (My daughter in law doesn't like chocolate) I store it in the fridge and we call it Pecan Praline Crack. Lol. I will be making that soon Lord willing! I am at home on Hospice and have to do things a little bit at a time! What I can't get done, my family will handle for me! If you prefer milk chocolate on the toffee, lay regular Hershey milk chocolate candy bars on the candy after you take it from the oven. Let it sit for about a minute to melt and it spreads like a dream. My toffee recipe is different, but the chocolate is the same. Then I sprinkle chopped walnuts on the top. Yum! Going to have to try the Cheetos treat!

Hi Mel. All those treats look so yummy. I make those Ritz cracker and peanut butter cookies too, but I add marshmallow fluff to the peanut butter. Thank you for posting your videos. I'm a TN gal too. I love that you share your love for The LORD in your videos. I was feeling a bit under the weather this weekend and I was binge watching your Christmas videos yesterday, and there's one where you all are gathered and there's a man, I couldn't see him it only has his voice, but I wondered if maybe it was your dad but he started praying and The HOLY SPIRIT just filled the air...that sweet presence. It was so comforting it reminded me of my own family and my Dad praying. What a legacy to have...I'm so grateful to have been born and raised in the Bible belt and to know what the presence of The LORD is and to have those memories of growing up in church and with a Christian family. I know everyone doesn't have that. I know it's just by grace but I'm so grateful that The LORD can reach anyone no matter what their childhood was like or where they are or where they came from. HE is mighty to save and HIS mercy and grace can reach us anywhere if we will call on HIS name and believe by faith. Much love to you sweet sister in CHRIST. Keep doing what you're doing...what a blessing you are. Your sweet spirit is refreshing.

I love these easy, festive ideas! I made a dessert charcuterie board for a Christmas party and made it super simple. I was trying to post a picture but my non tech self couldn’t do it. One trick that turned out super cute, was dollar tree brownies (already made in a box) topped with frosting and fancy sprinkles I bought on sale. They looked like they came from a bakery!

The treats look delicious, Never melted chocolate and added crisco. I’ve stopped using it 13 years ago. But in my earlier years I used it. Not any more, But the treats look good, I love baking, I’ve always baked from scratch when I was younger and still do. Mostly holidays and birthday. It’s just the two of us.

Just found you last evening. I love the quick and easy dinners. And your Christmas easy treats will be a must this year. Thank you from southwest Missouri.

When you’re at the store they have it where if you don’t read the packaging it will actually say eight count of 1 pound of butter! So you really do need to pay attention to the packaging and what the things say on it other than that sometimes if you’re not paying attention either you get a full stick or what you would call half sticks wrapped up individually. I find this good because I don’t use so much

You can use the hull less popcorn. So good!

I made these for teachers trays when the kids were in high school! They were delicious! Oops the peanut butter crackers! And peanut white chocolate clusters! And peppermint bark and millionaires!

That intro was just too cute! ❤

Adding that little bit of shortening to the chocolate thins the chocolate as well as makes the chocolate have a shine. They looked delicious ❤

I use coconut oil which is solid . Healthier

I would dip candy canes and marshmallows in the rest of the chocolate. I think they would be great in hot chocolate.
