So basically, wherever there is epoxy/alcohol, as a base, the cells form easily. Alcohol does this trick, folks. Make your own cell activator, with alcohol plus epoxy. Another way, is to spray alcohol, and pearlescent mica powder over your epoxy. Your welcome.

Well, these cells weren’t made with alcohol but yes you can use alcohol. We use that technique with countertops. People need to be aware that if they use alcohol for cells that they need to let their resin “set” for a bit before adding the alcohol and mica spritz because if the resin is too fresh the cells will disperse fully… also, “*you’re welcome”. Thank you for sharing that tip - it’s truly another great way to get cells. Have an awesome day 🤗

I was looking at your website at the color passion as a base coat for ocean waves and I only saw Wisteria passion is that your only blue base for cell action. I am in the Philippines and it is super hot here and even long action resin sets super fast here so. I go to the U.S. once a year and get supplies. Of course, I just came from the U.S a little over a month ago and can't get supplies till I g back next year, but I keep a list of supplies ongoing that I want to get. My new resin is being shipped should arrive soon. Anyway, the Wisteria looks a little too dark and too blue for the shoreline would love it lighter and more turquoise. What do you suggest? I was using Castin' Craft white. Just to say how fast my resin set is, I use a resin that says it has a 45min work time. I have to work faster than that and when I make free-form bowls it is ready to pick up and start molding in about 1 and a half hours, two hours and it is too hard to shape.

Erica does the metallic Color Passion work as a cell base or only the regulars pastes work. I will order some. Also any paste by for example color Obsession brand also work. Once I hear back from you I shall order. Thanks much.

That resin is pretty thick. Is that the key to getting better cells. If so, should only the base color be thick?

Good afternoon I love your work, a query how thick is the wood of the large pictures with ocean effect. It would be possible that you can show me the back of the picture to know how it is hung on the wall. Thank you very much for showing us your art, I am waiting for your answer, congratulations.

Hello! All of our pieces are now done on cradle boards from artisttilldeath.com/shop. The backs look just like the back of a canvas of corresponding size. Only difference is that there is no stretched canvas - it’s mdf so that the design doesn’t dip in the middle

You could but it would turn a pastel color. I would recommend just purchasing a cell activator that is the color you want. In this video the cell activator is the dark purple. Artisttilldeath.com/shop has like 40 cell activator colors (the brand is Colour passion and all of their pastes act as cell activators)

A answer to my question im searching for and cannot find so please help. Im doing a countertop and im wanting to make cells and stonecoat dont sell base tints anymore. If I use the dyes, will they make the cell effect like the base tints? if im adding metallics over the top of them. Im no artist, so probably a dumb question.
