Great break down of the two reels going all the way down to the shaft of the spool. How about a breakdown between all three of the Spartacus models, and also the difference between the Royale Legend and the Royale Legend elite. Well actually. To keep it close it would have to be the Royale Legend and the Royale legend elite Jet black to keep the gear ratios close to each other.

Just ordered this reel...arrives tomorrow. Excited to try it, really wanted a fast retrieve reel in my arsenal.

Great. Found what I was looking for my Speed Demon Pro 8'-0 Mag Cast Swimbait Rod.

i’m about to order the Pro tomorrow. & this is just the video I needed. I needed to see what the differences were between the pro & the OG, besides price. it’ll be my second KK reel, as i’ve also got the Spartacus in sea foam green. that’s the one thing I wish was offered, more color options. i’d love a black/green Speed Demon, but it is what it is. other than that, as long as it works as well or better than my other KK reel, i’ll be happy. I just wish there was a video explaining braid a bit more. would 30lb braid be good? I feel like 50/65lb is too much for what I do. but idk. i’m still a noob when it comes to all of this shit. so i’m learning as much as I can. because ideally, i’d like one combo to have flouro on it & the other to run braid.

Have they fixed the spooling to one side issue in the new model?

That’s cool. Still deciding on whether I should get the bait caster or the spinning reel. I have experience with bait caster but not too confident nor comfortable with them. So I was thinking of maybe grabbing the spinning instead but now I might consider the bait caster.

Does the guide in the assembly have a notch in it? I just received this reel in the mail and looked at it and mine has a notch the size of a fishing line diameter.

I have a kastking speed denom that I bought brand new from amazon and it was defected. I set up the braking system perfectly and it backlash and doesn’t have great casting distance.

I'd go with something between 6,5:1 and 7,5:1 as an allrounder.

Really depends on what you're gonna use it for...im in the process of saving up enough to get one myself. When I'm finally able to get it I plan on putting 40ish pound braid and using it for pitching, flipping, and frogging.

I loved my kastking speed demon combo bait casting set up till I blew the drag on it playing with SHAKER striper... what a bummer less than 12 months but anyway looks like I might have a replacement here with this demon pro ... we'll see if this new model will last a year of catching striper 4 times a week ...

I have a pro on an 8’ punching rod. It’s lasted one season and the drag is already horrible. I got it out of the rod locker and from one season to another for some reason it doesn’t work like it did last year.

How is it that 2 1/2 years ago I got a speed demon and about 6 months later I bought two more but those two did not fish or was as smooth as the first one. Come to find out, the first speed demon (after they first came out) had a pinion bearing installed and the newer ones did not (plastic bushing) and are geary sounding and nowhere near as smooth??? Saving a little $ by eleminating the pinion gear are we?? :o

I'm a fishing novice...what's the price of the pro...and I do a lot of surf fishing...would this be recommended over a spinner real at the beach...please let us know

Think I'm going to purchase one to try it out.

I love my Kastking Spartacus!! I cast just about anything I want without back lash and without giving up that much distance. I usually tune it so I only have to thumb it at the very end of the cast. Sometimes it feels like I am waiting for ever before I have to thumb it because the cast is so far away. I wish the Spartacus was my first baitcaster. It would have made learning how to use a baitcaster a thousand times easier! Edit: By the way its only $50. it was when I bought mine anyway. I use it more often than I use my more expensive reels.

The point of this feature or features of this reel is you can fine tune it to your cast and experience level. Something for everyone. It think it’s genius especially if it works with braided line. Nice job kastking

That happens sometimes. You have to note where everything goes which is why we include diagrams in the box.

That looks nice, but why do higher end reels get better magnetic brakes than the non pro? Sure it gets more features, but it seems like beginner range baitcasters should get the upgraded magnetic braking, while the option for more experienced casters would not need them as much. I haven't held both reels to compare but I think the basic version shouldnt skimp on them so beginners have a good learning experience.

The Speed Demon Pro is actually not our most high end reel. That goes to the bassinator. The SDP is a great beginner reel because of the magnetic breaking but that doesn't mean it is an expensive reel :)

Bought one of these about 7 months ago off amazon. My drag no longer works like it used to. A 2 1/2 pound Largemouth Bass is stripping line off. Is there a fix to this? I absolutely love the way this reel performs but the drag is the only issue with me and a buddy of mine as well. Please help, best reel I’ve ever had.

I know this video is for the bait caster, but I recently ordered 3 of the Sharky III spinning reels. One 3000 model and two 4000 models. I am loving these reels, they cast and reel so smooth. There is absolutely nothing to complain about. Great reels, awesome price! Thank you Kast King!!!

It's showing 150 yds. of 12# but I can't think that's the only pounds- test line that it can be spooled with. What other strengths of line will this reel accommodate?

That is just the rating of line. It basically gives you an idea of what line capacity the spool will hold. You can put braid and other plastic type lines on this reel.

I have a a last king crisis and is super nice and good looking, I’m pretty sure that everyone knows that Debo from his intro

Is the ratio too high? Does it make it harder to bring a big bass in? Does the reel flex?

A bass is nothing. I've used it to catch 10-15lb blues and they are stronger than any freshwater bass like largemouth and smallmouth.

What PE you use?

how would this be for drift fishing rivers? looking for light baitcaster then has smooth drift..thank you

Not a fan of the Lews style round knobs, really prefer the Abu or Shimano style paddles. Looks like a good real none the less.

Just bought the Speed Demon Pro. I tightened the drag pretty much as tight as I can and I’m still able to pull line. It’s not slipping or anything, just still giving line- am I doing something wrong?

Both the original speed demon and the new speed demon pro only have the magnetic braking system with no additional centrifugal brakes. I also have the assassin and the Spartacus plus and those two do have the dual brake systems on them. Also according to the KastKing website the stealth, white max, Spartacus (3 different models this is the regular one with no other descriptors), and the Royale legend (not the elite) have the centrifugal brakes in addition to the magnetic brakes.

@@noah_nguyen_ Hey there Noah, try starting at max brake and slowly work your way down one notch at a time and find your level of comfort with the brakes and the cast distance. There will be a sweet spot in there that you can manage and go from there. As with any other piece of equipment, the more you use it, the better it will work for you. How do you get to Carnegie Hall? Practice, practice, practice. :-)

DEBO...I think you are in error by not stating your relationship with KastKing as you have posted this under their name. Having said that, I decided to convert myself from spinning reels to baitcasting. No more mono...ever!!! I bought a KastKing Demon Pro and a Piscifun Phantom. The Demon Pro is a much better reel than the Phantom. It casts better and further and I rarely have a backlash with it. I am in baitcaster 101, but the Phantom seems to internally not consistent...casting distance never seems to be the same. The Demon Pro ALWAYS puts the lure exactly where I want it to go, casts smoother and in general is just a much better working reel. I would have thought that a reel needed more than one braking system to give backlash free casting, but with the Demon Pro, that is not the case. I have a friend with a Shimano DC and this reel casts just as well as the DC and just about as far. I love the way the Demon Pro allows me to cast a lure with in 6" of the bank when I am 20 yards from shore. The Demon Pro is a trouble free reel, it is very easy to learn how to use and makes me look like a expert while, in reality, I am still learning. I would suggest someone purchasing this reel, as a first time baitcaster, turn the brake to 10, do some casts and then start turning the brake down and get the thumb working on the spool. This reel will teach you how to baitcast. As you get better the brake comes down and your thumb comes into play, you will learn how to get distance and accuracy. You can go from starting and sloppy to good and comfortable in an hour or less. I am ordering another Demon Pro and the Phantom will be on the table at the wife's next garage sale.
