Thank you so much for this tutorial, so easy to follow. I made the bag for my new bicycle basket, I made two changes, firstly I hid the start of the handle in the bottom of the bag rather than let it show, I thought it might give it more strength and I divided the sides to make four pouches, it turned out just perfect, thank you for all your tutorials you are so clever.

I love your tutorials. I've been on a bag making kick and need them for all my many knitting projects. I found the easiest way to run your cotton cord through the drawstring tabs is to use a Tunisian crochet hook (but any long knitting needle or similar would work). I happened to have one already from doing Tunisian crochet before and I can take a tiny piece of tape and attach the cord to the end of the hook and just shove it right through the entire drawstring tab in a second. Then I do the other side and boom done. It's a lot easier than the safety pin.

Erica, I have learned so much from watching and sewing your projects. I am a beginning sewer,-don’t think I’ll ever advance==and I very much appreciate how clearly you explain each step. I can now box corners, create and sew on handles, and develop drawstring casings. This particular bag has helped me learn several important skills so that I don’t feel that I’m a complete idiot when it comes to learning to sew and for that I am so grateful. You have helped me gain much more confidence in tying your more advanced beginner projects. Thanks, sugar!! Pat
