I took your advice. I started with the few items I have which is 3 tables and 30 chairs and so far I've been getting booked. 🙂 The foundation is growing. Now I have a regular customer. I learned to use my competition as friends. Rent their stuff if the customers wants more. I rent from someone else and the ball is rolling.

Started renting the pop-ups I had to purchase for my marriage July 2021. Within 2 months, I had 4 10X10 popups, 2 10X20 popup 1 20x20 frame tent, a 6X12 closed trailer, 75 Costco black chairs and 10 6 feet tables. All paid for, except the trailer. In the Gatineau/Ottawa area, there are a fair amount of big rental cies, but they are all big, with large overhead and a hard time finding staff. So I aimed at the little back-door parties. Then I started watching your videos as well as Lee's and the tent guy. 1 Dec 21 I started bidding side panels and chairs from some overstock items from a party cie in Toronto. Well, the bidding happened quick and I was overly successful. I purchased almost 400 chairs for about 1/2 of the new price. But it's so many that now I have a storage issue and not nearly enough rental to own all that. But storage is not all, I now need dollys, docking shelves and so many expensive logistics items that are just as expensive as the rental items themselves. Hope next summer I have more success!

@@TheRentalJourney I am not sure if they are growing pains as much as unforseen expenses. After building 2x4 shelving, I realise it's not strong enough. So tomorrow, I have to spend another $500 for used industrial sheving to fix my storage issue. Fortunetly, I am old enough to afford it, but as I told the shelving guy, I'd rather spend smart the spend cheap. I kinda learned that lesson several decades ago, but every once in a while I still get cought repeating my old mistakes. It's cheaper to spend more initially than repair and redo.

Just found your channel and inspired to look into this. I'm thinking about renting out whole golf sets. I'm from Canada too, so I'm looking to start rent out golf sets for driving ranges and when spring rolls around, to golfers on courses. I have 6 full sets all big brands such as Taylormade and Callaway etc. Any advice? Go direct or work with driving ranges and courses and split with them?

How is this type of business during covid? I think rental anything is great business as people wants to save money and don't want to spend $$ for one time or a few time use. Have something money , buy something that people will rent with easy process at least at the beginning.
