Good man stu, I think these films are much better for the beginner, teaching is more your game. Good to see you back. Keep well
Congratulations on the work you; I am an admirer of the care and care that makes British homes so beautiful. My respect and admiration from a friend from Brazil.
Another fantastic video stu well done and keep up the great work and glad u and KC are fine. Hope u enjoy your weekend 😁👍🏻😁👍🏻😁👍🏻😁👍🏻😁👍🏻😁👍🏻😁👍🏻😁👍🏻😁👍🏻
Great job stu Top notch as always!
Love watching you and your dad on these small jobs 😊
Extra brick support in the middle of each pave wouldn’t hurt

They said it was temporary, but yes should make sure same height like stairs.....also if this was permanent,I'm sure it would have been built centre to the doorway😂😂😂
As Father Jack Hackett would say, "I love BRICK!" I can't imagine how you could tidy it up...it's perfect now😍

Another great job done Stu , If that's a temporary job , most people would be well happy if it was a permanent fixture, great to see KC doing his usual touches ,take care boys , and nice choccky bikkies, not cheap crap 🤣🤣👍👍
Cracking job as always Stu
Another step in the right direction stu👍😉👍. Can't beat British workmanship
Great work, I would add though they are gonna pop loose. The open centers will allow a bounce in the tread. And the brick will freeze before the tread stone. Next time fill the cavities and get a perfect smooth layer then set the tread in fortified mastic. That will stay for 100 years.

In fairness though he did say it was only a temporary job and that he would come back to do a pattern similar to the semi circular step.

@@annfernakerpan6654 Why not do the correct job from the beginning. Why waste the time and money
When I was an apprentice brick layer I was taught not to tap on the level but to tap brick. Once you tap on an aluminum level it’s no longer accurate.
Top job as always Stu
Love your videos Stu.Best wishes to you and KC.
Seems like a great team, guiding each other and pride in their work. Wouldn't be bothered about the cable.
Love those gloves. They are my go to
Good teacher. Well played. Decent job.
I love these little videos stu. It's interesting seeing things like steps being put in. Theirs lots of Brickie videos at the minute laying course on course on course. Would love to see more of these if you get the chance 👍

One thing I've always noticed about your videos is how perfect you get the mortar mix, the consistency is absolutely spot on every time, almost like cake icing!

GREAT JOB ❤❤
my dad wouldn't allow me to lay it like that, he'd make me fill up the entire inside with more bricks and especially across the back, there's nothing back there.

He mentioned it was temporary untl they could come back and do a nice step design like what is at 06:00 mins
Lovely work 👍
Why bury that cable that was running along the wall? Wouldn’t it have been better to reroute it, in case access is needed to it in the future?

Great job and helping a lady out to good on you.
Great Job boys well done 🍻
You went above the damp course on the external cavity. Capillary attraction
Nice video... I think the little jobs are good for us beginners to see.
Great stuff.
Lovely job.
This was strangely mesmerising

Simple and efficient.
Another quality installation chaps, fancy doing my stu. I'll pay you in wigan pies and bacon butties. Top stuff 👏
That's how you use a shovel young man respect 🙏
Did my house step off back of this video baring in mind I’m only a roofer I’m damn pleased with outcome going for a small brick wall next
I have to be honest. As a DIYer, brick laying is the easiest of the trades.
Subscribed nice work skilled 👌👍
Sometimes I don’t understand why i can watch this from start till the end.
How did you round the corners of the slabs? Really inspirational video for a part timer Jack of all trades like me!

Another top job well done lads when you coming to do mine 👍🏻😉😂
I thought you'd have set up your profiles for that job Stu ???? 🤣🏴
Where's all the window and door fitting videos with KC. Enjoyed them
I need to install a step like this at the back on my house on the extension so thought I would watch your video for guidance. I’ve got no problems doing this but my concern is the damp proofing. Doing this will surely bridge the damp proof or am I being over cautious?
Nice job
Spot on job that stu keep up the good work
Fathers make the best back seat drivers
I did one of these for a customer but I set it an inch away from the wall so I did not breech the DPM.

I did the same with mine, looks fine and enough space behind to clear weeds
This is a great video, I am doing something similar with my front step that is a little bigger, with bluestone slab toppers. What would you fill the middle of the step up with if you wanted that to be more permanent?
@harrybest610
2 жыл бұрын
fill it up with concrete blocks or even type 1 👍
With neighbours like Stu and KC you know come what may they will do their best to help you out of bother 👏 Well done guy's.
God wish I had a trade instead of getting a degree. Wish they'd ran trade courses at my Uni. I would have done Anthropology and bricklaying. I'd charge 5000 quid for laying a few bricks in the morning and then read about Inuit women at night.

It looks like a minor job this, but it'll make all the difference in the world for the owner.
Very smooooooth
I started doing one of these round the back of my house, got a bit carried away... Ended up doing a 2 story double extension

Half decent job but you shouldn't have that void under the slabs should be a full bed...
Belting job Stu.
Great video as ever! What cement/ concrete are you using so you can lay brick on it nearly straight away?

Great
How do you know how deep the concrete base needs to be??? I've got to cut into tarmac (to create a neat edge) to put a concrete base in, to build my steps on top of.
Guys, you are seriously taking the piss!!
Hi Stu, please can you what motar you use? Which make of tools you recommend?
I dont know what it is but people spend all there time at their keyboards, but to me there is nothing more satisfying then physical work, digging in getting things done learning. step by step, and at the end saying I did that, that's my job... Now let's get someone in that actually knows what there doing, because that is embarrassing, and if someone sees that from the pub I'll never live it down...
I'll be a journeyman in four days. Wish me luck! :D
Hold the shovel further down lads, and try the chopping action your dad was doing to loosen that bed! I’m a groundworker but love your videos mate been watching a while now
Is there any way i could build the step on top of existing patio slabs. I was thinking of ensuring the slabs were secure and using wall ties etc.
Hiya stu hope you and KC are ok 👍 Sorry for asking again but not seen Chang for some time now only thought He was doing so well 🤔👍👍
I’d be happy with that even as a permanent step
Yer Man Step By Step.
It's like looking in a mirror! I'd do exactly the same. Worth noting for beginners that you need to know the size of the slabs you're going to use to work out the lip when setting out the brickwork.
what is the ratio of sand to cement to best use please?
You made pockets to hold water causing foundation problems.
Seen some KZread house builds with smaller footings.
Would you recommend doing brick work with concrete mix and not a stucco and/or mortar mix?
@luisoliveira5024
2 жыл бұрын
No muck should be softer than the brick
Nice job, but should be concrete base, not mortar.
Brick perimeter great, but i don't like the twin step stone.A single stepping stone would look better.
What the frost line in your area? Brick work with no footer?
me and my 7 year old son love the vids mate keep up the nice work bro and would you mind shouting my boy out in a vid please as he just got out of hospital and his names logan m he would really appreciate it as would i
Will the step cause damp any it's high to the dpc
Perhaps move the wire up just under the door level ?!?
What’s your mix ratio there guys?
👌🍻
Grand Job😂
Why dint you just build straight of existing slabs. Its only 2 courses high
Lovely step pity about half covering the air bricks just causing problem in the future
Whats the muck mix please....and any additives....cheers
Is the overhang going to snap off if you step wrong?
