Easy Belt Replacement on Roper Whirlpool Front Load Dryer

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

If you suspect your front load clothes dryer has stopped spinning, this video will show you how to verify that the belt has broken and how to replace it. It is quite an easy repair job completed with basic hand tools. The same process can be used on any brand front load dryer but this is specifically done on a Roper. I go over selecting a new belt and installation. Get those clothes tumbling again!

    Excellent video shows you in detail how to remove and repair a broken dryer belt. Most of the others on KZread does not actually show all the details on how. Instead of saying 'remove the dryer door' this guy shows you how!

    The best and most concise how-to video there is about dryer belt replacement. The hardest part for me was getting the door sensor disconnected. I just about busted a gut trying to get it out. It was like it was welded in there. Another tough thing was reconnecting the front plate back on to the dryer. I got several small cuts and gashes trying to wrestle it into place but finally got it done. The rest was not too hard. Gave her a spin and it worked great. All it cost me was about 9 bucks for a replacement belt and a little blood from the gashes. Thanks for posting this easy to follow video.

    Just last week I installed new drum rollers, idler, and drive belt on my dryer, like yours in the video. Parts came as a kit, through Amazon. My belt didn't break, but the rollers weren't turning so dryer was making noise.

    FYI, I thought I had a broken belt but… my belt was actually OK. However the “driver motor pulley” was broken! The good news is that it was only about nine dollars on Amazon, and it took two vice grips to change it. You have to remove the drum completely to access the motor, but otherwise it’s essentially the same as what you see in this video.

  • @JoDempseySales

    @JoDempseySales

    Easiest way I found was to get the pulley seated properly. Then pull the belt through and up towards the motor shaft. The pulley will flex enough to slip the belt over the shaft.

    You forgot to mention *how* to lift the front panel off. It's a sharp, *upward* motion. It tipped forward and both clips broke. Other than that, a good video. But I'd really recommend adding that step instead of just saying "after you get the front panel off"

    How do I know what size belt to get? I see the size you picked, but I’ve been looking for hours to find a simple matrix or lookup based on my model number. Like an auto parts store would have. All I find is trash responses. My brand website doesn’t help. I don’t have the manual. Am I over complicating this?
