Only a Transitive Verb الفِعلُ المُتَعَدِّي can have a passive voice, Intransitive Verb الفِعلُ اللَّازِمُ cannot have a passive voice.

    SubhanAllah, I was struggling with the passive form and this video popped up in my recommendations Ustadh made it very clear. Easy to follow and understand. May Allah reward you in both worlds. Does the rules mentioned here apply for the verbs Form 2, 3, ..., 10? I leave my notes here so that it may benefit others. (and for reference when I come back in this video again In Shaa Allah.) 16:30 Pattern of the Passive Rules: * Past tense 1. Don't touch the 3rd root letter 2. Don't leave the 2nd root letter ( change to Kasrah ) 3. Put Dammah on the 1st root letter * Present tense 1. Don't touch the 3rd root letter 2. Don't leave the one before the 3rd root letter ( put Fathah on it) 3. Leave everything else 3. Put Dammah on the 1st letter (which is the sign of the present tense)

    The anti-Islamic advocators really need to learn this grammar to at least have a better knowledge of the Quran, to stop basic translation quotes out of context and mislead millions of people about Islam. Is a religion of peace but also a religion of knowledge and learning.

    Salam alaykum warahmatullah wabarakatuh Ustaz I firstly want to appreciate your efforts in putting this out there for the ummah. You've really made concepts clear and made my recitation less of mistakes now, I say a big jazakallah khairan I've a little question why do some active مضارع words have their first letter in rafa3 status, for example يُخرجُهم,

    Waalaikumsalam Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh I am sorry I do not understand what you are asking, as far as I know there is no such thing as a "first letter being rafa" in Arabic.

    @TheLanguageofQuran what I mean is that the first letter has ضمة on it. For example, يُخرجهم which I feel is an active verb, starts with a ضمة، and I wonder why it's not يَخرجهم

    Jazakallahu Khairun for your lessons. I'm going through all of them. One question: if I have a plural non 'aqil, should I use the singular feminine for the passive? For example "the heavens have been created" will need khuliqna or khuliqat? A note: in 29:45 you put "you (f) was helped", but in English you must say "...were helped"

  • @TheLanguageofQuran

    @TheLanguageofQuran

    Assalamualikum, Thank you for the correction 29:45, insha Allah I will correct in the next version. "khuliqna or khuliqat" I am sorry I cannot give a detailed reply to this type of questions by text. As the entire rules will need to be re-written here. my advice is that you go though the Quran and look at uses of passive forms, and study these rather than all the possibilities
