Easy and cheap DIY pulk sled for winter hiking

Proper pulk sleds can be really expensive but fortunately you can DIY a simple and functional pulk sled! Here's how I did it for my first solo 4-day winter hike up in the Swedish mountains.
My 4-day solo winter hike vlog:
• 4-day SOLO winter hike...
Inspiration for the setup came from this Rei blog post (but I heavily simplified it):

Clever and resourceful, maybe make one with wheels and fat tyres for when there is no snow. Stay happy.

I have seen many pulk sled builds. Yours so far gives the best description of how you built your own. Thanks, I enjoy your videos.

Been checking out your channel since you started it. I'm happy you've continued to adventure! I did the Pacific Crest Trail last year, and am currently doing the Continental Divide trail. That will finish my big 3 in America. Then I may head over your way to do some European hiking! Proud of you! Hikers Hike!

... Hello Maiu ,, with current conditions in your home area , I have had thoughts of your home and safety ,, hope life is well for you and family ... have made some changes here as well and have not been getting notifications for many videos ,, so glad this one came up , I have some catching up to do ... ... Nice pulk sled set-up ,, they really help with the extra gear needed for winter treks .. Agree , so many options to design a sled ,, I have 2 , one larger than the other when more extensive camp to set up ,, with heavier/larger hot tent and food chest for longer stay ... Pulk sleds and Toboggans make the gear haul possible ... will check in as time goes .... Stay Safe and give your dogs belly rubs often ...

Hi from Norway. This was exactly what I was looking for. Winter gear is so expensive 😫 ergo this was perfect.

A motorcycle cargo net is an excellent fastener for the cargo in the sled. Also, you can put a small fin underneath to make it more stable in sliding sideways during downnhill skiing. Also, an old-timey military webbing hip-belt is an excellent way of connecting it to yourself. I have one with some pockets mounted so i don´t need the back-pack. I sweat a lot so I really don't want a back-pack. If you put a wooden handle for a sweep in the plastic pipes you can avoid the flimsiness of them.

Have built a couple of pulkas and the rope solution is a bit too loos for my fancy. Next time will do a rubber hose attachment that will be flexible yet stiffer and without the slack.

And i was thinking and thinking from what you made the black tub. Did she use a big sqare bucket for mixing concrete? Is it a small bathtub for the garden? Some sort of trashcan? No. Just a huntig sled -g-
