Eastgate as it was (25/03/2010)
Eastgate Mall just under a year before an earthquake destroyed the upstairs carpark and most of the shops featured. I taped this shopping run a year ago to test the spy camera pen I bought for insurance purposes. Now the footage shot here can serve as a sort of video time capsule.

This is an awesome video. I've been going to Eastgate my whole life so its nice to remember it in its former glory

Thank you for putting this video up here. I worked at eastgate until the earthquake hit and it's nice that even though half of the place will be gone, there's footage of what ot was like beforehand.
i was 5 backthen i still remember going there it looked way better then it it does now
I don't understand how we have great footage from the 1920s but also phone quality videos. Also it's scary seeing how alive it once was.
I can't believe me as a little kid always coming here it was awesome THEN THE STUPID EARTH QUAKES HAPPENED and now I'm 11 and I come here and it's just not the same any more😱
