In this video, you'll experience the excitement and wonder of one of the region's most celebrated traditions: the Easter processions.
In this video you'll see the intricate details of each "tronos" (float) and "pasos" (religious figures) as they make their way through the streets of Malaga. You'll feel as if you're right there in the middle of the action, thanks to my front-row seat that offers an up-close view of the entire parade.
Watch as the procession of colorful costumes, rhythmic music, and sacred icons passes by, accompanied by the enthusiastic cheers of the crowds lining the streets. You'll see the intricate designs and exquisite craftsmanship of the floats and statues that make up this unforgettable display of devotion and cultural heritage.
The Easter processions in Malaga are an awe-inspiring display of religious devotion and cultural heritage. La Semana Santa, or Holy Week, is one of the most important and celebrated events in Malaga, and the city's streets are transformed into a stunning stage for the procession of floats and religious figures.
The processions are led by "cofradías," religious brotherhoods, and each one is unique and represents a different aspect of the Easter story.
The floats, or "tronos," are often adorned with intricate decorations and symbols, and are carried through the streets by dozens of "costaleros," or bearers, who navigate narrow and winding paths with incredible precision.
Malaga's La Semana Santa also includes a variety of musical performances, cultural events, and traditional food and drink offerings, making it a truly unforgettable experience for locals and visitors alike.
Whether you're a seasoned traveler or just someone looking for a glimpse of Spain's rich history and traditions, this video is sure to take your breath away. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the best view of the Easter processions in Malaga, Spain.

From _Wikipedia:_ Each throne has 6 or 8 _varales_ depending on the size of the throne. Depending on weight, some can weigh up to 5 tonnes, a throne requires between 120 and 270 _portadores_ (bearers) to move. Each person can carry between 20 and 40 kilograms of weight, during the time of the procession, from 6 to 14 hours.

Amazing video!!! I was born in Málaga and even though I'm not a religious person, every year I get completely overwhelmed by the greatness and beauty of my city and its traditions. Just so you know, they are not "costaleros" because they don't carry it on their back (like they do in Sevilla for example), they put the weight on their shoulder. In Málaga they are called "hombres de trono".

The Philippines was not a colony. It belonged to the New Spain viceroyalty, and therefore was Spain and his inhabitants had the same rights as the peninsular Spaniards. The term 'colony' for the Spanish Empire is Anglo Propaganda. Check the Philipine genocide made by the USA after they gained control over the Philippines. Stay strong.

Yes they are for public use, but they are not free. You need to purchase seats in there, and they range from $50 per seat up to $500 for an entire family, for a full day. (or whole week, can't remember correctly). So yes, you need to reserve them.

Hi there, thanks for the comment. Yes you do need a reservation. It's actually a ticket, you can buy a ticket that gives you access to the front seats. The price varies depending on the how long you buy it for. You can buy for one day, 2 days, or the whole week. I can't remember the price, but they are not too expensive. And it is well worth it. if you don't have a ticket, you won't get to see much, as everyone is trying to get a good view, form the little space there is available for those without tickets.

Hi, I'm from Malaga, and that is not true at all. Out of the 7 hours that a procession usually last, only 1-2 are in the streets where the seats are. The majority of people see them in other streets, and there is a LOT os space, athough it depends on the dimesions of that street and how popular the brotherhood is
