When I was ill in hospital, I discovered that my friends horse had died. I randomly heard the Eastenders theme in my mind and I hardly went a day without thinking about the horse as well as my own health deteriorating. 2023 was the worst year of my life but I’m fully recovered from the SPA infection illness i had living my life a year later with the trauma still vivid. I was only 20 when i nearly died but I’m still here at almost 22

This is such a emotional song every time I hear it I feel like crying even if it's a good ending :( loved the 30th well done Eastenders!

You know their lives will change when this song is played at the end of the episode, hits me every time

Powerful piece of music, never mind it’s from a soap opera, this stands out as a work of art and really does evoke some pretty hefty emotions.

She didnt let them know she was leaving. She just didn't come back after they sent her to Ireland. She said she doesnt want to come back whicb is understandable at her age but a shame as Dot is so iconic. Im sure when she dies in real life they will do it for Dot though.

I didn't really watch the show (In fact, I'm not even a Britain) but I still liked this song, along with the main theme song (oh, and also the jazzy one). They just sound beautiful, aren't they? :)

When Queen Elizabeth died, I imagined the Julia’s theme playing with the final shot of me and Woody.EXE crying whilst it zoomed out from my bedroom window saying EIIR 1926 - 2022. God imgine if Eastenders did that, many fans would have broke down

I'm not really into EastEnders but this is one of the most powerful and emotional music ever made, it does bring me to tears especially when one of my family members pass away irl.

I remember this when Pat died, my brother and I were in bits on New Year’s Eve when this theme tune came on. We were hoping for a big bang but not this 😥😂🤣

Same happened to me when I was told that Queen Elizabeth died and I was officially a Queen myself that same tragic Thursday night. The grief between me, Mummy and Woody.EXE was probably the most gut wrenching thing I’ve experienced. The 3 of us felt some closure after the Queens funeral but I was grieving for a long time

Whenever I hear this I either smile or cry, depending on my mood

Very emotional.

It makes me sad that EastEnders has declined so much in quality and that it’s now considered the third best soap when it was winning awards with great stories and great characters the show is getting rather worryingly low viewing figures I’m a fan of the show and my dream is to write an episode

I agree. They need a good executive producer in to shake up the writing and bring the show back to character driven stories again. Just like it was in the 80s.

Did Julia's Theme ever actually run straight into the standard theme like this? I love the way it does that here, such a warm glow of familiarity when that tune we know and love kicks in after that rising chord progression. Lovely stuff :)

Craig Banks They've actually used it for some happy endings. The rule tends to be it's for a softer outcome that doesn't really suit the suspenseful drums.

Imagine phil mitchell struggling with alcoholism with this music then as it goes into the normal theme for a few seconds before the credits grant returns to the square having bought a new house there!

If something is happening for the last time, then I hum part of this song. When the last ever InterCity 125 High Speed Train is retired from passenger service then this music would suit it!
