Just when i get my mind set on a 2023 TX300 you go and show me this 500 walking through EVERYTHING. Sweet ride. What year bike?

It’s a 2020 500 EXC-F incredibly capable bike for really anything. I ride my 300 XCW at this place and the only thing about the 500 is it wore me down a little sooner. When you’re tired in gnar the 500 is ALOT of power lol. With that said the bike will go anywhere if it’s set up right. The weight of the bike is only 8lbs heavier than my 300

@@usa45v26 probably the single biggest thing I did to the bike was have MVR do the suspension for a more plush ride on technical trails. I know he put in a kit in the forks. If my memory is correct, it’s about an $800 suspension job, but completely changes the bike. Also, if I’m not on a dual sport ride, I will run gummy tires on a bib moose. My favorite tire is the JX8, my favorite front tire is the M 59. Other than that everything else is just bling lol.

@@appalachianboundenduro I agree suspension is a bike changer for sure especially since im over 50yrs and over 200 without gear. Its tough choice between the 300 and 500, they both seem to do the job well. Im in northern VA so i dont see any riders on 500's in the woods around here, only dual sport riders on 500. i havent ridden modern 500 or 300. Just looking to add a bike to my 450sxf.

For what sounds like a 125 or 150 the guy ahead of you seems to be doing pretty well on such steep terain.

“Dr Danger” is what we call him lol. He is on a 2018 250xc with a high compression head. (Probably needs a repack also) He is a very skilled rider.

Nice place to ride! Is it just me, or do all of the camera angles make it look like you're going uphill? 😂

@@appalachianboundenduro looks like a ton of fun! I've been out to WV and it was similar. I rode it on a 350 exc-f. Got tossed over the bars twice from hidden logs in the leaves, but it was really fun. Eastern TN trails look really similar to VA

I’m guessing very similar, we ride in SW VA a lot too. Just Rocky, Rooty mountains. I used to ride a 500EXC-f. Great bike but a bit too much power when you get a little tired

@@appalachianboundenduro i have an Alta EXR which is 273lbs. I never really feel tired on it, but not much range either. I was previously on a 2009 YZ450 which didn't like slow speeds much, but I could handle it for most of the day without getting tired. Going to the magic button will make it a breeze by comparison
