Wakazaemon (bass) is all over here, with her bass lines and visually too! Touring with Marty Friedman taught her a lot about stage presence, she was much more static before. There's really nothing she can't play!

They announced their 2nd EP when they released the video. It's another 5 song EP, Forbidden Fruit 2nd Part, and it's coming out at the end of July. There's another music video that will be coming out before the release, but I don't think they've recorded the song yet for it. This song here is being used in a currently running Jdrama.

Another GR8 song from East of Eden!!!! You were wondering how they assembled so much talent for this band...... East of Eden was founded by the violinist, Ayasa (she is the leader and producer also), and she "assembled"/recruited the other ladies. Mizuki on drums 🥁 was the founder of the band Lonesome Blue, and Ayasa was a featured guest musician on their 1st EP. In addition Mizuki has also played drums for Ayasa's solo projects. Yuki on guitar 🎸 was the founder of hard rock/Metal instrumental band D-Drive. Wakazaemon on bass (my favorite bassist!!) Has toured with Marty Friedman and is a highly in demand session player. Akane Minato on vocals!!! In 2011 she was the vocalist for Mochi to Cheese along with 2 musicians you might recognize, Akane Hirose and Kanami Tono, who as you know are with this group called Band Maid!!! Maybe you heard of them 🤔? After Mochi to Cheese disbanded, Akane Minato became the primary vocalist for Predia from 2012-2022. She has done other solo projects as well. Ayasa knew all these talented women and asked them to join her in forming East of Eden. I am looking forward to seeing what else they have in store for us!!!! Follow up to their 1st mini album is due out on July 24th, titled Forbidden Fruit 2nd Piece. They also have a Live Blu-ray/DVD coming out soon.

Thanks for the info, I didn't realize she was the tomboyish singer who I thought was ok nothing special. She has drastically improved and has a powerful voice. The only problem I see is although great, her voice seems one-dimensional. If she sings like that all the time it would get boring for me quickly. Misia is another singer with a powerful voice, but to me, other than a few songs, most of her catalogue is uninteresting to me.

Bass and drums were very aggressive which I think is needed in a band with this much talent. The singer is in a lower register than a lot of Japanese vocalists. This is a great band, love their music.

I wonder if they wrote this just to make a point-they can do super technical prog and fusion, with some math rock thrown in, without blinking. What an amazingly talented band. I love everything I've heard from them so far.

They didn't write it. It was written by Kayoko Kusano, who also wrote the music. The band co-arranged it, that's all.

Akane Minato was the main singer and a founding member of the adult idol group Predia for twelve years, between 2010 and 2022. Mochi to Cheese was an acoustic side project she and two other girls from Predia were involved with, along with two members of Band-Maid from 2013-2015, but that's all it was, a side project. Predia was her main career up to joining EOE, and it's where she developed both her physical and vocal performance styles. MTC was nice, but little more than a blip in her career that didn't produce much musically. People keep mentioning Mochi to Cheese just because there were a couple of members of Band-Maid in it, but I find it disrespectful that people focus on that rather than the massive amount of other vocal work she's done, including her countless releases with Predia, another side project with a group called ARC∀DIA, tons of song covers from various artists, numerous television appearances, and singing the national anthem at baseball games.

It sounds to me like one of those pop-punk songs LiSA does; just imagine LiSA's voice over the track instead of Akane's. 100% LiSA song xD

A few people were complaining that this song was too "pop" sounding. But this song is for a TV show in Japan. EoE is on the same label as Lovebites. Hidehiro-san is the drum tech for both bands.

Looks like I’m in the minority. This track wasn’t my favorite. Excellent musicianship but it felt disjointed to me.

The guitar and vocals are perfect. I wish the drummer was a little better. The violin is not suitable for metal.
