A drive around the south-eastern shoreline of Oahu will provide you with enough breath-taking ocean views and lush jungle adventures to last a lifetime!
The tour should take around 4-6 hours (possibly even longer) depending on how many stops you make. You'll start off in Waikiki and then head off to your first destination, Diamond Head Crater.
After a short hike and a bite of Hawaii's world-famous Dole Whip, you'll head down the coast where you'll have the option to swim with tropical fish in Hanauma Bay, marvel at the Halona Blowhole, whale-watch at the Makapu'u Lighthouse Trail, or check out the surfers at Sandy Beach.
Then you'll continue on to the windward side of Oahu, where you can see some of the most gorgeous stretches of sand anywhere in Hawaii. Waimanalo Beach, Kailua Beach, and Lanikai Beach are jaw-droppingly beautiful, with turquoise blue water, white sand, and fun water activities like kayaking and wind-surfing.
You can grab a Hawaiian plate lunch at Ono Steak and Shrimp, a local favorite, and then head over to Dave's Ice Cream, which offers delicious, locally-sourced Hawaiian treats.
Before heading back west over the Ko'olau Mountains, you'll want to take a short detour to Ho'omaluhia Botanical Garden. You can just take a few minutes to drive through this uber-Instagrammable jungle wonderland, or park by the reservoir to relax and watch the birds and koi fish.
The last stop on the tour is the Pali Lookout, which provides an impressive aerial overview of the east side of Oahu. Next to the lookout is a unique "tree tunnel" road, where the dense canopy creates a natural tunnel.
