East Glacier: The Ultimate Montana Experience!

Where do I begin? To describe Going to the Sun Road, or any of its surrounding locales, is almost impossible. The beauty here is almost overwhelming. And the day we happened to go, there had been five days of thunderstorms and pouring rain, but our day was set to be sunny and clear… and absolutely beautiful. The June weather was kind of crazy this year, bringing late season snow and road closures, of which the road had only opened just days before our arrival.
There isn’t really a way to tell you what you will see if or when you come to Glacier National Park, so all I can do is try to give you a sense of the grandeur through my choice of music, description and of course, my handheld videos.
And on this day, this was one of those days where things changed and the plan was disrupted. I had hoped to get another view coming back the other direction, but as there are no signs… we went just a tad too far to be able to turn the truck around before Apgar Village… oops. No turning back. So we made the loop on Hwy 2, and lo and behold we were able to stop and see some goats at the Goat Lick turnout, which by the way is NOT marked, and you need to put it into your GPS. Anywho…
We also got to stop by Two Medicine Lake, which we didn’t think we’d have time for but I am SO glad it worked out this way. That lake is incredible, and I found it had a much greater impact on me than Swiftcurrent Lake up at Many Glacier. Fantastic. Do NOT miss it! This was a really great stop on our trip, spending three nights at St. Mary KOA. Dave signed us up for KOA’s when we were planning our trip, and initially I was against the “pack ‘em in” style of RV camping. BUT now I know why… they are very convenient, easy to book and all have had great service. They DO pack them in though, and the sites can be quite a bit off level. Just FYI.
I can’t believe how witnessing our country in person changes you. It really is a life changing experience, and I will only have this once, to put this kind of traveling experience under my belt. I will go again, for sure, but never will I be on a first time Big Trip. What I can say, is this: Armchair traveler… no more. Yup. Think I’m gonna leave that right there.
Thanks for watching, and for those wonderful people I have met along the way and connected with, welcome and thank you for joining in! There is certainly more to making videos than holding a camera… and I think I could do this for a while. Challenges and all. Enjoy the mini-movie, and I’ll catch ya next time!♥️

Michele this was fantastic, this national park is wonderful and your filming captured it beautifully, it was so clear as you drove, it seemed like we were in the car with you 🙂The mountains are beautiful topped with snow and it seemed like you were on the edge of the road driving, and in parts the snow looked like icing ! Fantastic view of the lake and boats. This was so good to watch and very relaxing ~ Anna 👍👏
