i played this in gym class... had no idea it was an Olympic sport

The East germans cheated. Every other team in that tornement should get a higher placing, while 2-4 get the medals they actually deserve.

Cheated? you have no idea. The East Germans won because they were the best. They did not lose any matches in the whole tournament, while the other strong teams (USSR, Romania, Yugoslavia, Hungary, etc.) lost one or several matches.
